My Future Mini M3
Ok, So i've come up with a list of mods that I think would make the car perform a bit more sportier than the stock 1er without "ricing" it out too much. What do you guys think? I'm seriously considering getting all this done soon.
Has anyone truly seen a real improvement from installing an aftermarket intake? Still deciding on an exhaust...too many choices. IMO i love the stock sound, if i can get that same sound in a more performance oriented setup i'd be happy UPDATE.... Non Run Flats JB3 Intake still deciding Exhaust Still Deciding Front Sway Bar-any ideas? Honestly if you are going to run DP's and other mods then do the JB3 since it adapts to those mods and the JB+ will not. You will only be able to run the JB+ at 50% safely with socal 91 and you can run the JB3 on map 3 which with the 2.0 software will give you more power and better overall performance. As far as codes go you can toss a code with a JB+ set above 50% just as easy as with a JB3 on map 3. The car will run like you want it to with the JB3.

Vorshlag CAMBER PLATES are a must. A good set of coil overs and springs. Front sway is a must as well. Really depends on what you would like to do with the car. As far as intakes, I installed an Injen intake and it did add some throttle response... just my $0.02... let me know if you have any other questions.

i went with the JB+ at 90% for over 4 months on 94 octance and no codes thrown, but I certainly agree ive just upgraded to JB3 and the difference is astounding, do it once and do it right you will not be disappointed with the JB3 its unreal

Caution about DP, some dealers may denial any Engine / HPFP warranty repair.
JB3 is a must or any ECU tune. A nice cat back exhaust would be a "sound" improvemet. Replace the front sway bar first and say if you would like to go further to modify the suspension since it will be the most expensive items on your list (next to LSD) and it is not an easy DIY.

The whole sway bar situation is tricky to me. What part from the M3 do i get in regards to the swaybar and wishbone/tension rods? Im assuming its the 2010 m3 parts? I think the Sway bar with Non RFT's with the wishbone/tension rod combo would be a big help.

Front sway is a big help, and really easy to install. With a set of ramps you can do it in under an hour. I have the Hotchkis one.
If you have a manual, definitely do the CDV mod. Makes it much nicer to shift. |

I have not tried the Hotchkis bars on the car, so I cannot comment on those. I think the bars should fit the 2010 as I believe there were no suspension changes...dont hold me to that tho.
