Yea I was a bit hesitant about it too but after 4 months of research and talking to other owners with the same lift. I sleep fine now

Richard Griot hosted a tour of his garage for the Puget Sound BMW club two weekends ago. No pictures were allowed. The garage is very impressive. Over 2,500 square feet with 14' ceilings, hydraulic lift, radiant heating, view of the water ....

Griots served everyone lunch at their store in Tacoma after the tour.

Not as nice as some of yours, but it's pretty spacious. The pics are only showing about 1/2 of our garage.

Words can't describe how much I envy the space of yours over what I posted above... With the amount of work I do on my own car(s) and those of others, the space is MUCH more appealing! I *need* a lift.

Very nice.

Sorry, no 1er yet, so I can just dream for now... (the 330i has moved on, without a proper replacement)

Similar tour last year was featured in the September issue of Roundel. Lots of pics, the place looked amazing.

The Puget Sound Chapter enjoyed a very special visit
to Griot’s garage. No, not the car-care products emporium—
this is Richard Griot’s house.

Man, we're just going to follow each other around board-to-board... Did you end up selling your STi or do you still own it? Sometimes I miss mine (mostly in the winter), but the 1er was definitely a good replacement.

Haha. I sold it, it was sad, but I sold it. The One is a great replacement, but now I'm stuck in the dilemma of modding. I'm either going to mod my One or pick up a beater wrx wagon for winter/ hauling stuff that I don't want to haul in the other cars, haha. It's a dilemma none the less.

Get the WRX and when you finally decide to demote the One to "beater" duties (hopefully a few years down the line), yank the motor out of the WRX, build it, add a big turbo and drop it in the 914...

To those of you who have put an epoxy coating on your garage floors, did you also apply some sort of clear coat or sealer? I put down just the epoxy coat on my garage floor about three years ago, and it has begone to peel up where it has been driven over. I spent hours of prep work on the floor to ensure a better epoxy bond, but I guess it didn't pay off.

I used the U-Coat It system, which is supposed to be the best, but have also experienced peeling. I've contacted them and they are willing to warranty it; unfortunately, I haven't had the time re-do it.

Supposedly this is NOT something they commonly experience with their systems and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since they're willing to step-up to the plate on materials to fix it.

We used a local company, can't remember the name, but it has been excellent. No peeling, no signs of wear really at all.
