Fog lights for 135i prt #
I saw these BMW prt #s for 135i fog lights. I thought that was a no no and that maybe only an LED strip would work.
Am I mis-understanding what these parts are? Why would BMW make these for our 135i yet not recommend using them as they block air flow? Although it lists that way on the description - when you look at realoem - it only shows as a part number for the 118, 120, 123 and 125. The 135 does not have the wiring harness or the switch, although the 128i euro light switch coulkd be retrofitted.

My M-sport 128i has the 135i bumper and fog lights. They look like the 63176924655 and 63176924656 parts.

the right fog light would block air to the oil cooler. If you have the BMW Performance Kit then the left would block air to the aux radiator. Oil cooler > fog lights.

It depends on where you are. Driving through the mountains in a heavy fog is aweful, just leaving the AEs on is more useful that leaving HIDs on.

I just noticed that the 335is (see banner on home page) just delivered to US has fog lights (I have not paid attention to the regular 335). BMWCCA mag this month said that US spec cars would not have fog lights due to the oil cooler. Therefore, I wonder if the issue with fog lights causing significant air flow reduction to the oil cooler is real or just speculation, and (you can see where this thought is going...) can we just put the OEM lights in??

Larry Koch(BMW NA M brand manager), told us at the NY auto show, that even though the show model had fog lights, the production model wont have them.
