I went to find out this morning only to find it packed away and put in the sales department (the stock one) so that it can be put back on the original 135i

I know this is entirely subjective, but you handled them both. Did there seem to be a difference? If you aren't able to say for sure thats cool. I apprciate all your efforts.

If I were to take an educated guess, I would say the performance exhaust is slightly lighter. The thing I am basing it on is that it was rather heavy holding the stock exhaust when taking it out from the hangers. It seemed easier to hold the performance one when putting them in the hangers, but this could be because we already knew what we were doing, and took less time.
Lastly, I'm sure overall the performance one is lighter, as now there are pipes instead of resonators reducing weight.

If Dan can do it, you can have mine .... the exhaust may not be as cheap if a dealership is really going to charge $300 to install it and keep the warrenty. I can get the CPe unit for a little more and install it myself since warrenty isn't involved. Thanks, Crowley

Yes, that is through the dealership if you want the BMW-Backed warranty. If you install it yourself you will have the BMW spare parts warranty, which is a 2 yr/unlimited mile warranty from the date the part is sold. If there is a defect or some reason that the part has gone bad, BMW will cover that part and labor if you speak with service. If you want to roll it into your current plan, or have it as a "plan" of 2 yr/unlimited miles, the first installation must be by a dealership.

You can still place the order, I will treat the following orders as the GB price and order them normally until interest fades.

Sorry, Dan. I guess I wasn't clear. I know you will continue to offer the price, but how frequently do you submit the orders to BMW?

Dan,
Well .. since you do orders daily, doesn't really help to many people out .. lol .. Guess I'm just a little taken back .. I typically wouldn't pay $300 for an exhaust install. Just send it over when it comes in ... if worse would come to worse, I just sell it locally .. BTW .. Quick warrenty question .. You talk about warrenty time frames and coverage .. is that only for the part itself? If for some reason, the dealer installs the BMW performance exhaust and it cause some other problem (say some turbo problem), is it all covered or would I be SOL? Crowley

I am all ready to order, but since I have until tomorrow: What were you impressions of the exhaust's sound? It is significantly louder than stock? Is there drone in the cabin?

Crowley, if you change your mind I will take your order. I have a local garage that will do the work and I am OK with the 2yr warranty. Granted, this means I have to take Dan's word on the exhaust sound.
