Meisterschaft is most likely out of the question for me! HELP ME PICK ANOTHER EXHAUST

since the guys over at GT Haus have decided that their product is liquid gold and that their system (which doesnt sell all that well compared to others) is worth almost DOUBLE in value than it was in the past!

there is no way in hell that i am going to spend at least $2500 on a cat back exhaust, let alone $1200 for a muffler, and this money can be better spent elsewhere in the car. they can get fucked

what attracted me to the system was its extremely exotic and headturning sound

see here

i am upset and disappointed, but this is the way it is

help me pick out another exhaust system for the car that has a similar exotic note!

thanks guys!!

I actually put a half deposit for the muffler GT quads 14 weeks ago (promise delivery was 8-12 weeks) only to find out that it wasn't made. Told me to wait until February... Right...

The vendor was extremely apologitic but Meistershaft didn't care. No discount and guranteeds so I requested my refund. I suggest Maddad!

I am still piss I waited 3 months for nothing.

The Meistershaft setup is unreal, if I didn't do the RR setup, I would have done this. What about a muffler + connecting pipes from two different manufacturers?

it is unreal! it is my favorite offering! when the muffler is $1400 shipped that is absolutely insane! that is the price of the CP-e full catback!!!

no, GT Haus practically doubled their prices on everything

here were my options
GT 2x83
No resonators in midpipes
Matte Black Tips

priced out on GT Haus shipped is $2780 and that price DOESNT include the Matte black tips that i wanted, so add anoter $280

retrodrive has it for less money, but it is still way too much. should have bought it earlier...

Oh, that sucks, did you get a quote from the dealers here on the forum? RetroDrive has some nice offers, the only reason I didn't go with him is coz of the stupid CA tax (~10%).

Another option would be the CP-e. I like how it sounded, but I didn't like their muffler's look and placement. My drive way will scrape the crap out that muffler, and that's why I went w/ the Meisterschaft...

Why exhaust systems are so over the top for this car is beyond me. All this does is create ample room for competition. Too much margin just attracts others, take BB fabrication in the downpipe market.

For me, I always look at cost per pony added and gains via exhaust for the 135i are exhorbatant to say the least. However I just picked up a berk axleback for 365.00 delivered. This was their first gen made of steel. Since they are going to a 2nd gen made out of SS, the 1st gens are being discounted by distributors.

I will be installing it sometime this morning and will post my thoughts.

I would not hang your hat on one dyno run from a mag as the be all end all for numbers. BMW advertises modest increases, not that their right but it is what it is. Anyway, good luck.

yeah, i checked with the vendors around here. i received the updated pricing from retrodrive. there was a significant discount, but still it was around $2500 which is absurd.
