if not from what I've heard the berk sounds good as well.

I like the tone on the maddad, just wish it was louder though that might be fixed with catless downpipes. I'm not sure.

I agreed that Meisterchaft sounds exotic. I think Corsa sounds great too. If you have limited budget, you may want to try aFe (or Berk or AA), or Maddad then add Maddad's catless mid-pipes. This would be a great sounding combo, IMO.

How about the agency power exhaust group buy ($650 for DP back), listed in the commercial sales section. Heck of a deal, and a good looking exhaust.

There are a lot of comments about drone with the non-resonated downpipe-back system, it would seem cp-e could add the dowels and welds to eliminate the drone (if in fact that does eliminate any drone), or would they rather have the $200 for resonators. Has anyone gotten a recent cp-e down-pipe back system so they comment? Their website advertises no drone http://www.cp-e.com/2116.html.

Sounds like you really want the Meisterschaft. I can tell you that its a beautifully sounding note. I went with just the axleback and got mine from Retrodrive.

What you can do is just buy the axle back, and have a local exhaust shop fabricate some midpipes for you. That shouldn't run more then $200 and the quality should be fine. Their pricing for the muffler is one thing, but the pricing for the mid section is absurd; it's just a couple pipes hardly bent.

As I understand it, every downpipe-back system removes the secondary cats, except maybe the BWM Performance Exhaust, so I'm not so sure drone is a necessary evil just for the stock midpipe-back replacement.

Most of my in-town driving will be around 2k rpm so I'd like to be certain before I order. I have to say as far as quality of sound goes however, the cp-e midpipe back system (w/o resonators since I haven't found a vid with resonators for the midpipe-back system) is only bested by the Meisterschraft system.

where are these comments?

i can tolerate some drone as i am around a lot of high performance cars and exotics that do drone. i cant tolerate the low beating drone that hurts ears and is excessive.

i want it bad! but i dont know how bad.....$1300+shipping.....

i was thinking of doing that....but it just seems easier to do the cp-e which sounds fantastic!

would custom midpipes drone more if they werent tested?

Check the link below for example; if you do a search for "cp-e drone", you'll get any number of hits.

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...ght=cp-e+drone

The issue of drone is very subjective, however, everyone knows it when they hear it. And apparently, it varies through the rpm range. Most of my driving ends up in the 2-2.5k rpm range because it's in and around town, so it's a concern. Not to mention cp-e says it's without drone (despite the fact 1addicts have commented there is); I don't want to order the resonators (and spend $200 extra), if there's no drone.

the CP-e sounds incredible but now i am worried about drone! i have a 6MT so i hear that helps

i wanted loud and aggressive to begin with, but from some posts i have read, it makes it sound like that with DPs and no resonators it is insane drone, and i might get DPs in the future...

Jib, have you considered the Active Autowerke system? They have an incredible product line for the 135i which includes meth, exhaust, dps, ECU processor, FMIC and BOV. Check out this link below to the exhaust sound.
