New member introduction...

Hi,
My name is Narayan and I've just registered on 1addicts. I currently have a 2013 128i coupe on order. Just the basics -Lemans Blue with Taupe leatherette and M Sport package with 6MT. No other frivolous crap. Build date is June 3rd 2013. I bought my first BMW 21 years ago and have owned 2 e30s, 2 e28s, 1 e36 and 1 e39. I still have my e30 weekend toy that I've owned for 14 years and my e39 DD -which is being replaced by the e82. I've wanted an e82 since 2008, but the standard sunroof made it impractical as I couldn't fit in one with a helmet on. Until now! I can't stand the idea of turbos anymore, having owned 2 Audi turbos and I see the BMW track record is actually worse than Audi's in this area so far! I see this as my last chance to buy a new BMW with an NA motor. God know it has enough power! It's not much slower than my e36 m3 used to be! I don't have much to contribute right now and hope to learn more from this forum.
Thanks,
Narayan

congrats, welcome

whats different with the sunroof now..

i would have argued that our cars are quite spacious but after watching and cringing as a 6'8" rather well built friend tried to fit in the passenger seat maybe not so much..

Welcome!

Honestly, I never thought headroom was bad, even with the sunroof. I'm 6ft, with the sport/manual seats and there is an ocean of air above my head.

BUT, you'll always have a lower center of gravity compared to everyone else without it.

I also need to actively think about the last time I used that dang sunroof..

Back in 2008, the sunroof was standard and sunroof delete was not possible. But since the 1M, the sunroof became an option! That allowed me enough headroom. I'm only 6'1" but I sit kinda vertical without much recline. My BMW sport seat driving position is usually the seat bottom all the way down in the back and the seat rake all the way to vertical and only adjust the seat front to back as necessary.

Welcome to 1addicts, Narayan!

I love my 2009 so much that I ordered a 2013 in order to have the last model year BMW with hydraulic steering and a naturally-aspirated engine. You will love this car.
