1m preorders

I just spoke to a sales person at bmw about putting down money for the 1 series m coupe. He told me that they will be only getting 3 1 series m coupes for the whole entire year and that they only had one spot left. I hopped on it but i was just letting people know the info i heard. It could be the same or different for other dealerships around the US but as the 3rd slot they said it would be in production around july and i would not get the car till September.

Man, I dunno about that.... until they give me a production number, I'd say it's a total crapshoot!

I feel the same. I'm #1 at Classic and the suspense is killing me.

Wow, you got on the list at Classic after I got on at #3 at BMW of Dallas, and you're number 1? That is great. Are you doing European Delivery? Did they talk price with you or tell you how many other people are on the list now?

Classic told me they had 5 on the list (all paying MSRP) when I went in there on Jan 12.

Of course the same SA also wasted about an hour of my time looking for a 135 with a manual transmission I could test drive. She said they had 4 on their lot, but it turned out they were all DCT, which was labeled 'Manual' in their system. Sheesh...

Needless to say, they won't be getting any of my money.

Interesting. I may have misjudged the timeline as outlined by Mnime.

D'oh! I was fortunate enough to drive a relative's 128i w/6MT last year. It was awesome! The car fit like a glove, and the 6MT was effortless compared to other manuals I've driven.

I had two of my friends tell me to avoid them as well.

I believe I put down my deposit back in late nov or early dec. MSRP is the agreed price and I am not doing EU.

I didnt have a good experience with BMW of Dallas. They didnt even want to talk to me about it back then and never returned calls/emails. So I went to Classic. They have been great so far.

I too wanted to test a manual 135 and they didnt have one. However my SA offered to let me drive his personal 135. I declined but it was the effort/offer that meant something.

All a matter of perspective, I suppose.

My former Classic CA is now selling energy efficient windows or some such, and my emails to the Classic sales manager about getting a new CA and placing a 1M deposit back in early November were never returned.

You had me, Classic. Tsk tsk.
