Steptronic - Rev Limiter?
I am looking to purchase a new 330i in the next month or two and am really leaning towards the steptronic transmission. I have a question though that I haven't been able to find an answer on. Will it allow you (in manual mode) to bounce off of the rev limiter or will it automatically shift you up a gear? While most of my driving is normal bay area commuting , I might every once and a while like to do an autocross event and whether or not the steptronic upshifts might be a factor.

sounds good in step trannies if the gears change automatically to protect the engine etc, but in manual, the engines fuel supply is cut off if you try to rev over the limit, thus slowing you down quickly. its a really strange feeling suddenly moving forward.
