I know R compounds run wider then street, so I'm pretty sure the 245 squared will not work. I'll have to go with 235 squared, which will still be wider then PSSs at 245.
I'm wondering if I can squeeze 245 Star Specs with just camber plates alone. Car is my daily so only need/want -1.5*

If your ride is stock or isn't lowered too much and you have the correct offset wheels I'm thinking it should fit, maybe run a 3mm spacer upfront if it rubs the strut. I'm running 3mm spacer up front right now. I wasn't rubbing the strut, but it was damn close. My track wheels are 17s with non stock offsets, 40 all the way around. So that might play into the tight fit. I just get some APEX ARC 8s in paired with Hancook RS3s for my street set up. Be running 235/255s. I'll let you know how close they come to the wheel well/strut up front. Should give you an idea if 245s will work for you. Don't have the tires/wheels mounted yet, not till the end of the week.

Subscribing for info. Only mods I'd do to my car would be the performance suspension, or these swift springs if they're better, plus a reasonable street/track wheel and tire setup to balance the car out and get rid of some of the understeer.

I'm not thrilled about the idea of camber plates - do the dinans require cutting the top of the strut tower?

The Dinan plates just fit on top of the stock top hats. Alignment pins must be removed from the strut tower, however. I think they're a very good option for more of a street-oriented car. I ran them for a couple of years at -1.8° (without M3 front control arms). Turn-in is definitely sharper, but if you get more serious about autocrossing or tracking your car, you will probably want more aggressive plates. I just switched to Ground Control street adjustable camber plates and will be adding M3 front control arms shortly, looking to run -3.0° or -3.5°, but I'm also doing ~20 autocrosses this season.

Incidentally, if anyone is interested in a used set of Dinan camber plates, I'll be cleaning mine up and listing them for sale shortly. About 20,000 miles on them.

I def think the 40 offset was the culprit with the spacing in jafos setup. If you get a set with +45/+58/+62 like the guys at Apex suggest I am thinking you should be ok as far as clearing any rubbing issues.

User Zombie just got these installed as well, and should be posting some pics as well. Unfortunately his setup wont be stock either, however he does have 18" rims.

You should be able to with a correctly offset wheel and perhaps a 3 or 5mm spacer.

ET40 wheels are FURTHER from the strut than higher offset wheels, so that wouldn't be the issue. You'd be more likely to rub the fender, but that shouldn't be a problem either, with some additional negative camber. I actually think ET40 wheels work very nicely on the 1er, as they fill the wheel well much better than OEM wheels. Currently running 17x8.5 APEX ARC-8's with 245/40/17 Dunlop Direzza ZII's. Moderate drop, -3* of camber in front, rear fenders rolled (tougher area for fitment in my experience). No rubbing, ever.

These springs are pretty awesome. Very well tuned by Swift. These springs rate wise are as stiff as coilover sets yet somehow they managed to keep it as comfortable as stock.

I've had a lot of experience with their coilover springs, but this is the first time I have been on their lowering springs, and I am very impressed.

I see how people are saying that this is the route to go if you dont want to spend money on coilovers, but in my opinion, this is the perfect set it and forget it suspension setup. You don't need to adjust ride height or mess around with the dampers. Swift already did all the hard work for you.
I don't know. I'm sure the springs are made well but I think they went a little too low with the spring rate in front. Maybe they felt a little softer was better for dual duty?

They had to compromise a little knowing that not everyone will upgrade to better struts and shocks.
