My modest photoshop contribution of the 1M.
They are nowhere near perfect, and I am aware of all the imperfections. Please excuse me, just learning photoshop.

Splitters look awesome. Whereas splitters on the M3 look terrible IMO.

Nice job, the one thing the stock car needs is a drop, real bad. And de-chrome, love the black kidneys and splitter. That chrome side thingie also needs to be black, I believe one is available for the M3 so will look to the tuner community to come up with one shortly. And yes, titanium colored wheels would look stellar!

I thought you guys all hated wings? haha
Love pic #2. Not diggin the bronze wheels or CF vanity covers. The CF covers make the front end of the car look like a mustache. Nice PS skills! |

The chop further shows how much a drop is needed with the 1M. I know the handling is leaps better than a stock 135i, but how in the hell do make the center of gravity higher? Hopefully the car will be dropped an inch before sale.

In my review when I returned, one of the questions I was asked was what would I change first.... and for sure I think the ride height could stand to be dropped just a little bit..... just to fill the fender wells a bit more.... so it looks like......... ..... a 335..... ?!! Is it me.... or does every single 335 on the road just look like it's already slammed? They all look tight... bone stock! At any rate... one of the engineers rode with another participant and I while I drove on the autobahn/city route.. He sat in back. He switched cars more than once so perhaps the three mules even had different setups on them ... who knows... ?? If the Valencia Orange car that we saw is the final ride height, the aftermarket will want to start to ramp up early on spring and shock packages. 1M+decent drop=autocross king and car show bling . . . tried to make it rhyme. But with a drop I think it would help that little bit more. The 1 series already is a very upright car and is probably the tallest out of the lineup when it comes to coupes (1, 3, and Z). I don't know if it would make all that much of a difference, but do you think since they based the 1M's suspension off the M3 that due to the lower weight that the springs struts aren't as compressed? I am most likely wrong, but it has been a thought lurking in the back of my mind after looking at the photos. As most know 400 lbs. is a big difference and the 1M shaved between what, 75-200 lbs? 75 lbs. is already enough of a difference in whether or not my rear tires rub over a bump or dip. I love the photoshop by the way, not sure if I complimented you earlier on, but I meant to.
