Yep most certainly was a custom job on the binnacle cover. Any interior upholsterer could do it just fine.

Funny to see my own thread bump up, been a while since I've updated it busy enjoying the car.

Re: Front lip, I'm really liking the SLeK one to be honest, iCarbon doesn't really exist anymore sadly. I think also I might drop ride height by about 10mm.

Done a few things recently, here's a couple pics, average ones as per usual

Drop ride height a bit?

Thanks all!

Here's a quick update to some of the cosmetic side of things. I've updated the "mod list" too. Getting pretty lengthy.

Yep! No more dumbo ears Mine fold etc etc so cost a bit extra. Most of the price was in the mirror glass. Got them from the UK as I needed RHD. Was a a quick direct swap.

Yep. I was lucky. I didn't realise until after I had bought mine that the housings are actually LDH/RHD specific - the passenger side one is more angled. Mine were RHD but I know at least one person who accidentally got LHD ones and had to on-sell them...

Really easy to install though...

Hey Pete, how do you find the AFE magnum force stage 2 N55 intake? Worth it?

Hi mate, replied to your PM.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1001712

I am semi satisfied with it. The Gruppe M one I really like but it's way too expensive and I'm not sure it really yields any more performance.

Gents,

Having a Dinan Stage 3 software flash done today. Just removed JB4 and giving Dinan a go as it's the only flash tune available for my car. I also want to have the car setup for the stage 4 compressor upgrade they are working on which will just be a turbo upgrade with basically a free upgrade in the tune software to stage 4 (Like the N54 variant)

Will post impressions in due course.

I hope you love the linear power delivery. It's just always there! Enjoy! ditto.. on the compressor upgrade. When it's out. I'll be the first on line to have it installed!

Yes I am extremely happy with it. It's a much smoother tune than my other piggy back solutions gave me and things like Cobb AP are still and probably will be incompatible for quite some time. Dinan was by far the best option for me.

I picked both the Stage 3 tune and HC oil cooler during their 15% off sale in October.

For those wondering, yes I'm still using my existing 5" ETS IC, alongside my downpipes and intake and it's all working great together. Not getting any CEL codes, funny idles or anything.

The oil cooler is a work of art and extremely functional. Even impressed with the fittings they used - worth every dollar.

The biggest gain is with the torque of the car where I put it in third year and mash it from 2000rpm. Feels great. Other tunes I had seemed to shimmy and make funny throttle closure issues, random idle fluctuations and seemed to overspin the turbo (just didnt feel happy when it started to boost). Flexfuel was a nice but mixing ratios and keeping concentrations was too much trouble for me at the end of the day. This tune just works, and given it comes with a warranty.

A stage 4 compressor upgrade would be brilliant and I already have my funds allocated for when that baby comes around!

Looks great and fitment is spot on. Shroud is awesome, piping and fittings are awesome. I really need to take pics of the car end - to - end as I keep putting up shitty phone pictures!

I bought it from a local HARTGE distributor (It wasn't cheap though). Nevertheless, it's a discontinued product now. I got the last one.

Cheers Marco. I'll stop being a lazy ass now that its almost summer here and I'll take proper pictures and sound clips of the exhaust. The Dinan tune has introduced some lovely bangs to the exhaust note I can't wait for the Stage 4 either. It will be a small software charge (N54 is I think $200 more) and a core exchange turbo. Should be great.

Does the oil cooler and/or shroud block the inner portion of the air intake that directs into the wheel well?

It cuts into it slightly but its still 70% there. I'll post a picture of it when I get home. The brake ducts don't really do much when you have bigger wheels and tyres anyway.... However....it is nice to have a duct that can be used to route dedicated piping to the rotor backing plate.

I really want to dyno the car too as to me if feels quicker than MAP 2 on the JB4 I had. Plus don't know of any figures of a FBO + Dinan Stage 3 N55

Def post a picture when you get an opportunity. I'm thinking of fabricating brake ducts this off season but would like to upgrade the oil cooler in the future. Just trying to plan ahead so I can do both eventually.

I'm not well versed on engine tuning but why would fbo affect dyno results with dinan tune? FMIC id imagine would enable consistent results over multiple pulls by fighting heatsoak and charge pipe might let turbo spool a little quicker but if the tune isnt programmed for taking advantage of catless or race cat downpipes (like the dinan tune) your not going to see any difference. Am I wrong?

You're probably right, but reducing the asthmatic restrictive nature of the N55 stock downpipes and a high-flow intake should have their benefits in their own right. The DME will obviously target certain boost levels, but a free-er spinning turbocharger / higher CFM of airflow can only improve things.

Lets see what the dyno says when I get around to it.

Pictures attached both AUX radiator + Dinan HC Oil cooler:
