The weave looks pretty good on the roof piece but using it as a cover completely defeats the purpose of having a carbon fiber roof. Might as well throw some of these on: Also, I'd paint the roof inserts black as well as the antenna instead of leaving them VO. It looks odd having the black roof then two strips of VO, then roof line. |

So the CF roof, though nice, is purely cosmetic and basically adds weight or is a wash? (break-even on weight)

I hope they install the roof correctly and weld all the holes they drilled. I did the CSL roof change on my M3 and had to have it re-done as the first install was not so good.

So the CF roof, does that include the two rain gutters or you reuse the original painted ones?

The fitting is actually very straight forward and as long as you use the correct epoxy plus rivet then it will be just like oem. i've been driving mine on different weather condition and is all good. I'm very happy with it.
The side gutters, as you can see from my picture here. You retain the original one ... and you can still put your roof rack on. ~NOTE, i've painted my antenna black to match the roof ....

Holy wheel gap Batman!!!!
The 1x1 weave was probably done because that's what bmw uses on its roofs. I think an overlay is pretty poserish, but it looks good. I would have a hard time getting the overlay when someone makes a real replacement.
