The Vancouver dealer said it's a US SB so they wouldn't update my car.
If you have the Canadian SB #, can you please let me know. Thanks Quote:

I suggest you bring that update sheet and show it to them. I called the dealer and they even check with my VIN on the system, as well as BMW Canada and showing no updates available. So, expect they tell you nothing is wrong with your car.

Here is the detail of the correction: Programmed control units including CAS and DME as per PUMA 51033547 initialised windows and TPM. Hopefully it helps, and enjoy your car! |

Thanks very much.
I have a cruise control issue so they will have a look at the Service Bulletin at the same time. Quote:

Thank you likeabos! The PUMA # you provided worked and I got a software upgrade.
The old "integration level" was E89X-11-03-502 to the new E89X-13-03-504 I have only done short drives but so far so good. Will provide feed back after a longer term |

ROM update
thanks for all the great info in this thread.
just like another member in this thread, my car currently has ROM version 9780B, which is not supported by Cobb's Accesport. I am trying to figure out a way to get the dealership to update my ROM to version 98G0B. Can anyone confirm whether or not this update for the DCT results in an updated ROM? Or would appreciate any other suggestions to get the ROM updated. thanks in advance. |

just a quick update. I took my car into the dealership and provided the SIB attached in this thread. For me, the SIB updated my ROM to 98G0B, which is compatible with the Accessport. In addition, my DCT feels much more responsive, especially when going back on the throttle from a slow roll. Thanks again for all the info in this thread.

I've had issues with this as you may have seen in my previous post as far as seemingly low idle and at times when it dips below 500 and does that jumping up thing. Its also rough sometimes and I'm sure its all related. Well the other day it actually stalled on me as OP said and showed in the video. I have not taken it in yet as I have a service in 1500 miles so I will wait since its only happened once. Whats strange is the car is always fine once its moving. The problem occurs only when slowing and the car is downshifting or when stopped or going very slow at idle.

I just had this work done by my dealer, Classic BMW in Plano. I told them "it stumbles and lurches at low speed, more pronounced when AC is on." It was enough of a drivability issue that I didn't want my wife driving it because she's already afraid that she's going to wreck my baby and if it starts lurching on her she'd freak.
I noticed a lot of my programmed settings and presets are going to have to be redone but this may be due to getting the battery recall done as well. I've only put about ten miles on it so far but the shifts are crisp and the stumbling seems to be gone. I typically shift mine manually but left it in drive mode to test and it seems much smoother. So far I'm happy with the results. |

lo-tek, what exactly they did? I have the same problem you described with the A/C switch on and my SA keep saying that it's ok.
Never mind, found the answer, lol. Last edited by Joaco135; 12-19-2013 at 10:55 AM.. |

I recommend taking the SIB referenced in this thread when you take your car in. When i went to get my car updated, it would not have happened if i didnt have a copy of the SIB with me. The SA had no clue what the issue was but pulling up the SIB provided the information needed for the update. Also recommend saying something to the extent of car feels sluggish off the line or stutters of the line.
