Here's the BMW service schedule, it'll tell you what you need to know. The 5000 mile oil change intervals might not "count" any more since BMW introduced the free maintenance, and now oil changes are magically only needed every 15,000 miles or once a year, but if you scroll down, I think the rest of the 1999+ model year scheduled services still apply. http://www.fayetteimport.com/BMW%20Services.pdf

I still smile when I'm walking towards it. I started to get used to the stock power though, so starting to order parts only owned it for about 2 months now. Ordered ER charge pipe and Tial Q bov; and also OEM black kidney grille

"Does the 135 use synthetic oil?"
Yes - which is why the oil change can be 15k, though I would recomment doing the very first oil change by 3k.

I purchased the extended maintenance for piece of mind. My 135i is at 49,900 and on 3/28 she goes in for the ppk1 and alignment. I need two rear tires and will do my Winter/summer switch next weekend.
Still love mine and can't wait to see how the ppk1 changes the car. |

I couldn't be happier with my service department and the car. Even the stereo seems to have gotten stronger with the last software update in the BASS department. And the new turbos just charge on the highway. There isn't a car like ours on the road - it is truly unique.

Ordered mine new and picked up with 13 miles. Lots of little problems and bad luck early on, but dead reliable now as I approach 60k miles. Just added a 2012 VW GTI w/ DSG to my stable, and while it's very good, it's not a RWD 6MT.

I still love mine had it since June '08...fast approaching 67k miles. Only little thing that is bugging me is the wastegate rattle is becoming an annoyance (and I am out of warranty, but have extended maintenance). There is supposedly a lawsuit out against BMW for the wastegates on the turbos (per my SA), so there is hope there for my pocket. Car still gets looks, I get stopped weekly by people, and is strong as ever (with a tune and meth and catless, and, and, and....LOL).

Yes - you will have to pay extra for an early oil change, but I think it's a good idea IF you drive the car in a sprited manner and plan on keeping it for the long term.

Well according to the lawsuit (which was finalized/approved on 4/20/12) the warranty will be extended on the wastegates/turbos (money is for prior replacement of HPFP)....although there is some confusion as to for exactly how long. You have a man crush on my car? Ok then how about some 1er porn for you BMW by Adrean8j, on Flickr BMW 135i by Adrean8j, on Flickr |

Bought mine new in May 2008. Going in for 40k service next week. Not one mechanical problem in 4 years, and I've been tuned for 3.5 of those. The only issues I've had were the radio shutting itself off at times (fixed), and currently my driver's door won't lock/unlock unless I do it manually (will be fixed next week). Other than that I couldn't be any happier with the car overall.
