Hooning leads to possible great discovery!
First off, Bought a used '09 135i 6MT with a Dinan stage 2 flash from the dealer. Upon inspection of the rear engine cover, it looks like it may have been piggybacked.
So, ordered a line lock kit, and in preperation for this, got some cheap cheap tires for the purpose of burnouts. By cheap I mean they cost my guy $62/Tire. Delinte's! I also got some god awful 17" rims for the rear. Two rims and two tires was less than 1 new tire in the proper size, lol. Couple quick shots: View post on imgur.com I don't have pictures of it, but when I did a burnout, I left two, very distinct, long, and thick tire marks. This would indicate to me that possibly my car has some sort of aftermarket LSD possibly? maybe? hopefully? I'm still not 100% sure, as if it is an LSD, it has to be a wavetrac since it doesn't suffer wheel hop like my other LSD cars do, but the car doesn't seem to drive like another vehicle I have which is RWD with an open rear. Thoughts/Comments/Questions/Concerns/Rants are greatly appreciated. |

You can get a decent burn out with a stock 135...specially with cheap no grip tires....even with my PSS's i can drift it decently.

My driveway agrees with the majority sentiment here. Got 2 long streaks, definitely from both tires, no LSD.

E-LSD not all that bad.
I have to disagree in part based on my experience.
My E90 had the lower control arm sitting on top of a cement slab with the drivers right rear tire comepletly suspended in the air. As an old 4x4 guy I know the easiest way to get unstuck is the way you came in. So I placed it in reverse, said a prayer, and eased the throttle. The DSC light flickered a couple of times and after about 10 seconds another small scraping sound and all 4 wheels were on Terrafirma. That little mishap changed my opinon about the elecronic limited slip. All things being equal even a N52 can smoke the inside tire if you hop on the throttle around apex. The N54 can shred it at will.
