Max tire size for 17x8 ET42??????
Right now I'm running 225, but I was wondering if I could fit 245 on them. I do have camber plates and currently running -2.6 these are just for my fronts
Any thoughts???

Quite possible you can fit 245/40/17 all round. Eg. Michelin PSS in 245/40/17 will fit easily with that camber. Some sports tires may be a tight fit though.

RS-3 have a lot squarer side walls than PSS so its possible you may need to roll your rear fenders. It will be a very close fit, so you will need 2 degrees rear camber even if your car isn't lowered too much.

RS3s V2s are an excellent choice. They seem to offer a good improvement over the old V1s.
With that being said, I would be safe with running 245s 1. You're about the max width I would run on a 8" Wheel 2. Any larger you're going to have trouble fitting it inside the front fender Personal experience time. I'm running 245 ZIIs on APEX 17x8.5 ET40 wheels. I'm lowered probably around 1.5", and am running -3.6* camber and needed to roll my lip slightly to clear under high compression (normal daily driving I'm perfectly fine). In addition, if I bump up my compression on the shocks I don't rub...so it is only when I run soft. I also had to run 5mm spacers up front (ET35 now) to clear my front strut Pic for reference. And under compression (Note, this was at -3* and changed since to reduce understeer): Feel free to ask me any questions. It was quite difficult to find a good fitment. |

"Should" fit fine.
For track days, I'm running a square setup 17x8 ET42 w/245/40/17 BFGoodrich Rivals. I have camber plates, m3 control arms, and Ohlins coilovers. My car needed a spacer to clear the spring seat on the Ohlins. Nothing rolled, and only get minimal rubbing with this setup under hard cornering.

I've already rolled my fenders, I might step up to -3 camber up front like you said to help out with under steer.

I like the car to rotate the rear, so more camber has (so far) done that |
