Didn't get it either. I am either listening to the news on my way to work or just plain have it turned off. Guess I'm not much of an audiophile. I do hear good things about the system, I am just of the opinion that a high end sound system is more appropriate in a luxo cruiser and not in a tiny sports car.

Perhaps we can put them on a giant loop to help you through the grueling waiting period.

I know two of us here will have our is's finish production tomorrow. Perhaps this lemans blue one I saw online will help you as well.

Montego blue and LeMans blue are beautiful on the 135, but I just don't think I have the pinache to be a blue car guy. Don't think I could pull it off.

Haha I know your pain buddy. I waited about 4 months for mine from order to pickup day. I watched several vids on youtube all the time. They helped but also antagonized me at the same time haha. Well heres a vid of mine for you. I dont have an IS (not able to be delivered in europe) but I have a down pipe so you hear some good turbo whistle. The best pulls are between the 4- 5 min period These people drive super slow and theres round abouts everywhere in town.

Wow, IS or not that sounds amazing! I knew it was good when I noticed myself involuntarily grinning and laughing during your pulls. I doubt I'll ever put up my 1er's windows this summer.

Geez, they want a lot for that car... Mines just like it without the Technology package and got it for 6K less.

I gotta assume that's just sticker.

You get yours from Kuni? I almost ordered from there but seemed like I could get an extra $1,000 off easily down where I currently am in L.A. since there are 20 BMW dealers within half an hour from here.

Now I'm thinking I could have gotten more than $4k off my 135is. Hmm.

No, I ended up going over to Bend. Got a recommendation from my old Salesman Scott Bradley and got a good deal over there, better than anything I had received in the last 12 years.

That like Carrera BMW if I remember correctly? Somehow I can't imagine many 135s get sold in Bend, though it's pretty out there (friend of mine has a cabin there).

Congrats on your car (and deal!) and for those of us still awaiting ours, would love to see pics if you haven't posted any already. Hopefully I'll post mine in a month.

Yep it's Carrera. They had mine on the floor waiting for me for a couple of days and they had to have people out there monitoring it to keep pesky hands off. Said that it got the most interest while it was there.

I'll have to get some pics soon. Weather is just starting to clear up from the usual Oregon winter.

Definitely looks like MSRP - I couldn't see many actually paying that price before tax, title, etc. The Wash DC area is also very spoiled with a high concentration of BMW dealers so prices aren't terrible here.

@tdwilli1
Congrats on the car! Definitely post pics when you can.

IMO the performance exhaust is all the premium sound you need.

I almost don't want to type this, but there are times when I'm finding the PE to be too loud for my tastes. But then it's just so good. It's not going anywhere, there are just times when I wish it would shut up.

Hey all,

Just a quick intro. Came from the VW world where I had a 2012 mk6 k04 GTI 6 mt with a meth setup. I was dynoing around 350 whp, but Fail Wheel Drive was not acceptable with this level of power. Always been a beamer guy and got the chance to scoop up this 2008 135 M package for 22900 with a 3 year warranty and 45k on the clock.

As far as mods I know of vishnu, berger, and cobb for tuning and AFE for exhaust. Don't know how far I want to take the 135 but I want to make around 400 whp. Hope to learn a lot from you guys.

Below is a pic of the 135 with my GTI in the background.

So update from me, my 135is vert has been in port here in the states for close to two weeks, hoping it will be at the dealership soon!

Relative to comments on HK, I listened to a stock system and found it sufficient for me. In a money-no-issue world, would have bought HK too, but chose to alloctate money to the "is" over the "i" with HK or tech package.

With that said, hoping that the PE isn't too boy-racerish for me...so thanks for the honesty MB. I've listened to the videos and the sounds make me smile and laugh out loud with anticipation...still, being north of 40, I don't want friends/colleagues/neighbors to be saying...what's that guy trying to prove?

In any case, can't wait to hear it first hand!

Pictures to follow soon, I hope!!!

Took delivery of my 135is (DSB 6MT) today and had a very enjoyable drive from Ft Lauderdale back to Key West down the Overseas Hwy! Pics and initial impressions later on tonight.

I did get the HK and glad I did as I'm a big audiophile. I can already tell that I'm not going to miss the nav at all.

Congrats eywflyer! Your 135is beat my car by a week. Can't wait to see pictures.

So I was contacted by BMW NA today and told they've been trying to contact me to release my car for delivery. It was a military sales purchase, guess that is part of the process. I might have already had my car if not for a wrong email address they had. For the Seinfeld fans out there, can you say, "Newman!!!"

Enjoy your new ride!

Thanks Navychop!

Initial impressions:
The drive back to Key West provided a few good opportunities to check out the passing power. Torque in the 3000-5000 RPM range is incredible. Feels like you go from 50 mph to 85 almost instantly.

As many have noted, the exhaust sounds amazing.

If you listen to music at all, I highly recommend HK. It sounds really good - nice and crisp. For folks who listen to news (or the exhaust) it wouldn't make much difference.

Satisfied with my options - premium adds a few nice touches I wanted but actually glad to not have the nav screen on the dash.

A/C seems a bit weaker than my 325. Setting it on auto and 70 degrees in the 135 doesn't produce quite as cold a result in the cabin as the same setting on the 325.

Pics from delivery day:
