MY2011 135i RFTs

Hi guys,

My SA tells me that the 2011 135i comes with 3rd generation RFTs...can anyone please confirm that? Further he tells me that these 3rd generation are not as bouncy and harsh as the previous ones...

Thoughts?

Thanks guys!

I haven't had my car more than 2 weeks...but IMHO the RFTs "Feel" very clunky and heavy and rough.

I've been scouring the internet for some suitable replacements.

I don't know if it's because I'm used to a stiffer ride or what, but I have no complaints about the comfort level of the RFTs, even with pothole ridden roads in Hawaii. The grip isn't half bad either.

For what it's worth, my 2011 128i came equipped with Goodyear Eagle LS2 tires manufactured in Germany the 38th week of 2009. After all of the negative RFT comments I've read I was planning on replacing the tires immediately upon delivery.

However after 2400 KM I have no problem with them and plan to run them until they need replacing. Longevity may be another issue, but for now I'm fine with them.

If you go normal tires and drive across country, might want to consider this for back up:

Thank you all for your replies and thank you maxnix for the article, very interesting read.

I could be wrong but I guess it would be pointless to say that all MY2011 comes with 3rd generation RFTs since they all come from different brands and manufacturers. In my case, the car will come wrapped on Dunlop SP Sports 01 DSST and I don't think they are the 3rd gen. as I couldn't find any article on theses Dunlop RFTs.
