Some of your expectations are too much as is the comment about BMW AG. Stipulation to being employed with BMW AG is that you must have an interest in cars. To suggest no one at any of the BMW installations do not like cars is insulting and untrue.
Before our ED trip to pick up our 1M, I guessed at Dr. Segler's e-mail address (he was at MINI by this time) and I wound up corresponding with his super nice assistant who arranged a meeting for us. Dr. Segler took time out of his day to visit with my wife and me. He spoke with so much passion for BMW and for the 1M, gave us some great insights into its development, talked about his family, asked about ours and was just as gracious and kind as can be. He was totally interested in us for the few minutes we were with him and gave us the impression he had all day to be with us if we wanted. Far from being "disturbed" by us, he was excited to meet a couple of people who shared his passion.

In actuality it was a quick visit -- just a few minutes, but one we'll remember forever. Beyond the thrill of meeting him, the way he treated my wife and me taught me a lesson in leadership and generosity that I hope to try to emulate for the rest of my life.

My only regret is that I didn't think fast enough to have him sign our car "You will love it" "Outstanding" "You will not give the key to anybody else" or "You will have goose pimple."

Brilliant! The basic learning here: if you have high expectations about meeting your gods, better make an appointment!

My ED meeting with Jürgen Schwenker at ///M was a glorious 2 hours car porn session.
