Jezzer, I've dealt with Parr before and they are very good.
I have had a response from Akrapovic in Slovenia, they recognise the clearance/alignment issues and are investigating a solution.
I have tried powerflex exhaust mountings with some further fettling but it still remains an issue for me hence it would be good to hear how Parr get on.
With regard to the slip-on or Evo. The sound with the full Evo is a little deeper, with the valve open it has a wonderful crackle when decelerating that was not there with just the slip-on.
The fact that the valve is vacuum to close does make it v loud on start up.

I'm very curious as to what they'll come up with as the possible problem.

As far as I know or read most of the cars equipped whith this exhaust don't seem to have any probs with the clearance altough i must confess i had my doubts at first looking at mine. I hope your prob gets resolved very qiuck.

Good to know that they are looking at a solution - faith restored. Any luck for anyone looking at modifying the wireless kit so it starts with the valve close?

Any news? Thinking about buying a Akra Slip-On myself. But if there are still issues with the fitment, then i will get the eisenmann instead.

They are working on a new set of mounts and have a few test cars running them to see if that will take care of the issue.

+1

I'm told the solution is a new/revised set of mounts, it that proves to work, those with the clearance issue will get such shipped to their installer.

Is this issue the same for US, UK and European cars?

I talked to the Akra dealer in Sweden and he says there are no issues but he heard there was issues in the UK!?

Would be interesting to see some pictures of people without clearance issues and with!

Is the clearance issue both with slip-on and full evo? specific batches? US only?

In the process the evaluate going for akra slip-on with N55 mid pipes. But really don't want to mess with any clearance issues...

Have the Evolution system excluding the optional down pipes and have no issues with it. One of the BMW dealers fitted my Akrapovic as it falls under motorplan.

1M back from Parr with new exhaust mounts which certainly seem to have improved the clearance, albeit the original carbon fibre look trims have worn away the carbon fibre to bare metal so I can't tell if there are still rubbing. However Parr tried hard to make it touch the diffuser and couldnt. Next stop is to get Parr to get new trims from Akra for free! Will clean over weekend and add some photos.

The cost was basically £3500 plus VAT including fitting. The new mounts have done the job and Akra have been chassing PARR for feedback!

That's nice, I think I was the first one to raise the issue with Akra and still absolutely nothing for me! Glad to see they are trying to sort it for others none the less.

Basically it is a completely different design of exhaust hanger that now gives equal distance on the sides and top of the exhaust and stops its rubbing on the top and or sides of the diffuser. Will go and photo to show you all!
