Original clutch on it? Make sure to have it checked out. e39 m5 clutches are notoriously weak for a 400hp car.

I would bet that a large majority of M5 owners don't drive the car hard at all. Sure there are some that are owned by younger people that drive them hard, but I bet the majority of them are sold to 50+ year olds that don't drive them hard at all.

yeah! I agree, get US Specs M's that you can bring home, but you wont mostly likely to find those there, unless someone brought it from here, and doesnt want to take it back home, but get a new one instead.

VIR turn 3 (still had stock springs here, but did have wide fronts and camber plates already): On the way to a 1st place trophy at the BMWCCA Oktoberfest Autocross on VIR Patriot course: Regarding miles...mine has 30k miles on it now (never driven in rain if I can help it, and I don't drive it everyday...got the ZHP for that), and I've had very few issues (knock on wood). I never plan to sell it.

So beautiful, such a perfect beast.
I just can't drive a car that averages 12 mpg.

Congratz, hope your M5 holds up well. Come back to E90 Hood when you feel the urge to shift again.
