The M3 and M4 will be fine if the weight is kept down. I'm not likely to buy this car, but personally I wouldn't want a V8. Not a twin-turbo one with reverse flow heads. Being a traditionalist, I think ALL BMWs should have 6 cylinder engines and light weight design.

Mercedes just doesnt make their cars the way they used. And I just dont like the way all the new cars look, other than the SLS AMG. I will definitely stick with BMW, their engineering beats Mercedes IMO.

Power:Weight more important than peak HP in my eyes. As is throttle response and suspension design. Mercedes on a roll though with their engines recently and I'm actually glad BMW not caught up in a HP race. Instead focusing on mass production (and lowering cost) of composite materials.

I've had several BMW's now and currently own one that was more than twice as much as my new DD Benz C250 coupe.

Hands down the Benz wins in interior quality - leather, plastics, solidity, NVH.

And it handles dam well too.

I have no doubt that the new C63 will be excellent in every regard. Already the interior is shaping up to be something special in this price range.

The new M3/M4 does not excite me. I wish it did but it just doesn't have that something. Perhaps it's due to it's engine. I don't even feel like test driving one.

AMG on the other hand does excite - I can't wait for the Black Series version of the coupe. I never owned a Benz before mainly because I was unsure on Benz quality (performance and build) having never owned one before and the fact that I have stayed true to BMW.....however this time, after ownership of both Benz and BMW side by side, my mind has been changed! Never thought I would say it but I reckon Benz make the superior performance saloon and coupe. Just wished they'd give me as good service as BMW does!!!!

The new AMG V8 engine is going to be amazing both aurally and performance-wise. The new M3/M4 sounds good but is nothing compared to the 6.2L AMG V8's. You don't even need to upgrade the exhaust on them. I'd imagine the 4.0L will sound superior still and have the performance and flexibility to match.

The only thing I DONT like about the new C63 (and current for that matter) is the lack of flared rear guards. BMW have done this bit right.

BTW: I really wanted BMW to make another version of the S65 or a high-revving flat 6 for the new M3/M4....
