I think they are (or at least were) a sponsor and occasionally post as well. Used to be Harold but I suppose others may have taken over that particular job. I'm sure there are many good shops but they'd be my first choice. Bought from them many times and they know our cars. |

If someone knows of a vendor that has them let me know please. otherwise can anyone recommend a relatively stiff spring that does not have huge drop also associated with it. Not looking to exceed an inch or so.

The 905 or even 903 are candidates, being for the E90 / E92 335i and M3's. They are a little stiffer per the specs, but it would be hard to say how they would lower the car and if anything funny would go on with the bump stops. If those cars had similar weights and weight balances, it could work out. You'd also almost certainly have to replace the struts with adjustables to handle the extra spring rates. At some point you start looking at coilovers or other options... |

Sooooooo
How'd the front bumper come out? I understand even the original 135 front bumper can be a snot, and the 1m versions can be even more of a pain to do cleanly? I can't even imagine the patience it takes for a good wrap, I'm sure if I attempted the job it would look like I just threw a giant Persian rug over the car....

They were pretty stiff, and VERY LOW. I eventually swapped them for an Eibach set (I went with 2091.140, but that's for my convertible.) I've had those on, with Koni Sports, since 2019. They are lower than stock (M-Sport), but over an inch higher than the Swifts - I can actually clear speed bumps, (most) driveways, and road hazards. Some passengers will say they're a little stiff, but as long as the road isn't crap I think it feels great. In addition to the great folks on here, Harold at HPAutosport, Chris at Strutmonkey, and Tire Rack were all invaluable resources for figuring out what was going to work best for me.

Koni yellows are in. Did find a vendor off eBay that had the Swifts in stock. They are supposed to only drop by an inch, so we'll see.
few questions: The instructions that came with the Konis are nigh useless, I get how the front adjust for rebound but do they also adjust for compression? And how do they come out of the box regarding where they are set at? And the rears need to be compressed and turned. General question: Why are they are couple different ways of rating spring rates? Is there a conversion formula for them? Looking this up now elsewhere on the interwebs

Also those threads on the bottom of the rear shock were so damn rusted out of the box. Holy crap Koni I needed to hit them with a rust converter and a wire wheel.

Spring rate (k) is how much a spring compresses with a given amount of weight added to it. Pretty simple actually. If you don't want to do the math this site looks right: https://garage.redline360.com/spring...-kgmm-to-lbsin |

Final question regarding rates, if I see a coilover manufacturer like Fortune Auto does, use a rating of 9k are they just shortening up the 9.0kg/mm to 9k then?

Thanks for the feedback, your car certainly looks good. Thankfully I can dodge most speed bumps but I'll be watching my ass out there. I'm on factory 17s btw

https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show...&postcount=399 Here it is on Stock M-Sport suspension, followed by Swift 904R's over Koni yellows with 12mm spacers all-round: https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show...postcount=3447 I hope you enjoy the swifts! I just don't think they were a great match for the (admittedly heavier) convertible.

i think that combo feels better than bmw performance suspension for my needs. I am looking for a balance between comfortable daily and occasional mountain runs and i dont track the car. for koni sports rears, I opted for koni sports by tc kline so that it has the adjustment knob on the top, so that i dont have to take out the shocks everytime i want to adjust it. i think the price premium is worth it for that convenience. |
