I'd try these guys: https://www.hpashop.com/

I think they are (or at least were) a sponsor and occasionally post as well. Used to be Harold but I suppose others may have taken over that particular job. I'm sure there are many good shops but they'd be my first choice. Bought from them many times and they know our cars.

Called them and they called Swift and it has been discontinued. Fudging fudge.
If someone knows of a vendor that has them let me know please.
otherwise can anyone recommend a relatively stiff spring that does not have huge drop also associated with it. Not looking to exceed an inch or so.

Bummer!

The 905 or even 903 are candidates, being for the E90 / E92 335i and M3's. They are a little stiffer per the specs, but it would be hard to say how they would lower the car and if anything funny would go on with the bump stops. If those cars had similar weights and weight balances, it could work out.

You'd also almost certainly have to replace the struts with adjustables to handle the extra spring rates. At some point you start looking at coilovers or other options...

How'd the front bumper come out?

I understand even the original 135 front bumper can be a snot, and the 1m versions can be even more of a pain to do cleanly?

I can't even imagine the patience it takes for a good wrap, I'm sure if I attempted the job it would look like I just threw a giant Persian rug over the car....

I was actually just thinking it sounded like time to make that jump-

Understand there are quite a few more spring options available for the various CO's

edit which springs have similar rates to that of Swifts?
double edit: Mod bargains seems to have delisted Swift's stuff
I had a set of the Swifts on my E88. 201lbs/in front, and 503 rear - I believe the 4X904R.
They were pretty stiff, and VERY LOW.

I eventually swapped them for an Eibach set (I went with 2091.140, but that's for my convertible.) I've had those on, with Koni Sports, since 2019. They are lower than stock (M-Sport), but over an inch higher than the Swifts - I can actually clear speed bumps, (most) driveways, and road hazards. Some passengers will say they're a little stiff, but as long as the road isn't crap I think it feels great.

In addition to the great folks on here, Harold at HPAutosport, Chris at Strutmonkey, and Tire Rack were all invaluable resources for figuring out what was going to work best for me.

Koni yellows are in. Did find a vendor off eBay that had the Swifts in stock. They are supposed to only drop by an inch, so we'll see.

few questions:
The instructions that came with the Konis are nigh useless, I get how the front adjust for rebound but do they also adjust for compression? And how do they come out of the box regarding where they are set at? And the rears need to be compressed and turned.
General question:
Why are they are couple different ways of rating spring rates? Is there a conversion formula for them? Looking this up now elsewhere on the interwebs

Also those threads on the bottom of the rear shock were so damn rusted out of the box. Holy crap Koni I needed to hit them with a rust converter and a wire wheel.

Metric vs standard

Spring rate (k) is how much a spring compresses with a given amount of weight added to it. Pretty simple actually.

If you don't want to do the math this site looks right:

Well I don't mind a little math. And I do understand them, I just see different ratings which did confuse me. Though in hindsight metric vs standard seems pretty obvious.

Final question regarding rates, if I see a coilover manufacturer like Fortune Auto does, use a rating of 9k are they just shortening up the 9.0kg/mm to 9k then?

Ill keep it updated
Finally got the K+CAN D+CAN cable and installed INPA. First time using it, but worked pretty good, the cable too as well. The software showed like if the new sensor was faulty, stutter in read speed and no signal about rotation direction, so to make sure, I swapped the sensors, right to left and left to right, went for a ride and the lights never came back....... Weird! Makes me wonder if the old sensor was good... still, its nice to see 0 dash lights and everything working as it should. Also it is good to have now a scanner tool to check your own codes, no more paying for that!

Before swap

After swap

I did myself washed it for the first time in two months, car was pretty dirty.

I've had the Swift/Koni Yellow setup for years and have only encountered one speed bump, that I can remember, that was a problem, and this was my daily driver until last year. Attacking steep entrances to driveways are done at an angle for sure. Here is how my car sits with Konis, Swift specR, M3 control arms, Dinan camber plates on 17 X 8.5 Apex Arc 8s with 225X45X17s all around. I have never thought it's too low...and I'm an old man at 58! Here are some pics to show how it stands. [ATTACH]Name: Car 2 5-9-23.jpg

Thanks for the feedback, your car certainly looks good. Thankfully I can dodge most speed bumps but I'll be watching my ass out there. I'm on factory 17s btw

Here's my car in 2019 after installation of the Eibach set over Koni yellows/sports with 12mm spacers up front:

https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show...&postcount=399

Here it is on Stock M-Sport suspension, followed by Swift 904R's over Koni yellows with 12mm spacers all-round:

https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show...postcount=3447

I hope you enjoy the swifts!
I just don't think they were a great match for the (admittedly heavier) convertible.

i had koni sports with stock msport springs on my last 128i, it was great. in fact, my new 128i has bmw performance suspension with both springs and dampers, but im looking to get back to stock msport springs and koni sports.

i think that combo feels better than bmw performance suspension for my needs. I am looking for a balance between comfortable daily and occasional mountain runs and i dont track the car.

for koni sports rears, I opted for koni sports by tc kline so that it has the adjustment knob on the top, so that i dont have to take out the shocks everytime i want to adjust it. i think the price premium is worth it for that convenience.
