I think the rear flare is important. One of the best things about this mod is that it will let us run nice off-sets, a huge benny over non-wide body kits.

To cut costs, I'd think about paying the shop to do the rear fenders and paint all the parts. I'd do the bolt on stuff myself.

I have a shop nearby that can do a working quad for 500.

If this thing can be done for 6K or less, then I'm all over it.

And by the way, for any fake 1m haters;

I'm running better suspension then the stock 1m, and better brakes. I've got a better intake and intercooler also. I've got a LSD installed and am running more HP then a stock 1m. I just don't have the 1m members only jacket.

Oh and I didn't want a manual I wanted DCT so 1m wouldn't work for me.... So conversion sounds pretty nice!

Im still trying to find out from local dealers if its more cost effective to get 1m body parts and rear fenders custom made, or to just buy the kit

Yeah thats not a bad idea. Also, I' may be wrapping the car, so I wouldn't need paint on the new stuff hopefully.

My thoughts exactly. I am interested in this too, and have already been in contact w/ my local shop.

Does anyone know if you need to get the chrome 1M "badge" for the 1M front fenders? Will the 1M front fenders still look OK without it? I'm not considering spending this kind of money to be a "1M poser"; I need wider tires up front and after my ER WB FE kit fell through this past Spring, I'm still left with destroying brand new front tires in less than 1 day when I attend BMW CCA or PCA events.

To keep costs down, I am not considering the 1M rear; just the font-end. With my 135 ARC-8 wheels I can already fit 275's in the rear.

In reading through this thread and checking out the links, can anyone confirm or let me know if I am missing anything parts/component-wise for me to pursue and complete my 1M front-end conversion onto my 135?

1M Front Bumper
1M Front Ducting & brackets
1M Front Fenders
1M Front wheel well liners
1M Side Skirts
1M Chrome "Badges" for front fenders (are these needed?)

Am I missing anything? Thx.

I am sorry to post my question in your tread but I am new member and not allowed to start another tread! When searching for E82 Frame Dimensions your tread popped up.
Here is my question:
----
I have been trying for a couple of days to get the E82 chassis frame dimensions without success. I need to check my frame/chassis for damage but can’t find any info on my TIS.
E90 frame dimensions ok but not E82/E88. This is not about wheel base, front/rear track, and distance between the seats. I am talking about frame dimensions between provided locating points to check car frame is dimensionally correct and square or it needs repairs. Can anyone please help.
----
Maybe one of you guys can help post it as new tread.?

BTW - Totally agree the 135i needs more space under the front bumper for additional water or a larger oil cooler. The kit is interestingly priced as I need to replace the front of the car. If I will ever do it, this is the moment to do it ... I will email UK.
