Stig 1M Mishap Explained in Sept 2011 Top Gear issue

Going over the latest Sept 2011 Top Gear Issue.

They finally explained the reason how the Stig damaged the 1M.

"On the next lap, the 1M was off, bouncing through the grass, nearly hitting a landing light and mainly going where a 1M doing 115mph shouldn't be going.

As ever, this wasn't the Stig's fault. nor the 1M's, either. There was a wet patch on the track where the tyres had been moved that morning and hitting that at speed sent the BMW into a huge tank-slapper."

In the same issue the "Stig's Supercar Showdown," the last paragragh says it all.

"No, the 1M is about the pursuit of fun. Attainable fun. It's semi-practicality just makes it one of the most rounded - and desirable - performance cars in the world right now. Which means Jeremy Clarkson is for once, entirely correct."

so the Tibetan Stig was foiled by a moist area of pavement, and it's not his fault? where's the surface flag when you need it!

reading your title, i thought you meant they'd apologized for the sequential turbo thing!

It was the 1Ms fault.

If BMW had offered it in Blue than the car would've blended in with the water and the water wouldn't have bothered the 1M. Because the 1M would've been disguised as water and thus the water would've treated the 1M as water and not caused it to spin!

DCT and AWD would've only helped the car out more

lets not forget the tires previously stacked on that spot. they're culpable as well for detaining mother nature's rain, thus preventing it from evaporating in a timely manner.
