2017 1 Series Sedan Thread
Hey All:
Latest renderings are super sexy; Here is latest info on it; http://www.bmwblog.com/2013/09/27/fr...n-launch-2017/ and while I'd rather play in traffic than have a FWD car, an M1 with AWD wouldn't be that bad. I figure a ton of us e46 guys/holdouts will be jumping on this car (in the AWD configuration). In 2017 most of the e46s will be 15-20 years old, and we will all need a DD that is more reliable as the e46 becomes a garage kitten/toy much like the e30 has become. I opened a savings account today called "M1" and will preorder one the first day available. Not sure what options will be, but I assume it will be similarly spec'd to the S3 sedan, so put me down for; - 2017 (maybe 2018) M1 - Red - AWD - 6 speed manual Who else here is actually excited to get an e46 sized BMW sedan? Hmmmm, I came to BMW to get away from my previous FWD car, and now BMW is going to the dark side. Looks like my next car might not be a BMW like I thought it would be.

There is no way on earth that THAT monstrosity will ever be called an "M1"...
You should change the name of your savings account to "BMiniW"... |

Those headlights are fucked up. They need to be less squinty (that's a weird word to spell and look at huh?). The rest looks great actually.

Dackelone: unfortunately those renderings may end up being quite wrong in the end as they are based around the RWD platform and hence have RWD proportions. If the 1-series sedan is FWD, it will end up looking very different in side profile than those.

I can only hope they give us a 300 bwhp and AWD, and then I wouldn't bitch as much as I would otherwise.
If this is strictly a FWD optioned car, then I'll rename the savings account to "S3." I seriously don't understand it though - what is so difficult for BMW to make *EITHER* a 1er RWD sedan or a 2er Gran Coupe? Come on BMW --- small, RWD (or AWD) and lots of power. Shouldn't be that difficult. The F30 is as large as an e39 was. Just becoming a monstrosity. |
