Top Flight Reproductions Removable License Plate Bracket

I installed the Top Flight Reproductions License plate bracket, with a black frame. These are made for Corvettes but adapt nicely to other cars. I have one on another car.

http://www.topflightrepro.com/corvet...brackets.shtml

Heres how it looks.
You could simply leave the plate off unless parked, or being stopped by an officer, Sorry, sir, but I just got off the race track and forgot to put it on, or, I was on my way to (or just left) the car wash and forgot to put it on. 2 wingnuts and 1 minute later it is on.

Or, you could leave it on all the time removing it when at the track. Perhaps on a hot day, and running hard, you might be wary of diminished air flow to the intercooler. But at cruising speed I doubt there would be any problems.

that is one of the best solutions with drilled holes i've seen yet. However, it blocks the FMIC

No holes are drilled, it attaches by 3M adhesive. Removable with heat. True it blocks the front, but I plan to drive with out it most of the time.

Just use it when needed (as in when an ossifer is about to ticket you). One thing to note, this is not cheap.

If he wants to give you a ticket rather than a verbal warning for that, I'm not sure that would work. He can always say you didn't have it displayed on your car at the time of the infraction, if he wants to write a ticket. By the way, telling a cop you were at a race track and getting out of you vehicle is a bad idea.

Still, that is pretty cool. You should fabricate a right angle bracket so it doesn't block the FMIC. If you do, make sure you put padding on the part that could potentially rub the paint.

OK,

I reversed the bracket, so it doesn't block the intercooler. There are no holes in my bumper, and I can remove this in 30 seconds, by unscrewing 2 wingnuts.

I would rather get a ticket, and 2 more miles per gallon than run a front plate.

Nice idea/design otherwise!!!
