My car is pretty much never outside unless I'm driving it or washing it.

Since I took delivery on 29th of October 2011, my 1M was parked only once outdoor at night at a spa resort parking, it sees the street for driving only.

The last 1m I saw parked outside got stolen in a couple of minutes (in the UK) :-(
Garaged for me. I get worried whenever I leave it parked at shops, etc. A friend of mine won't buy a nice car until he gets a house with a garage. But I wouldn't let this ruin your opportunity to own a car like this. Might need a little extra investment of time on your part to care for it, but I guess you can't stop other d-bags that see the car as an easy target outside to vandalize. Hope you live in a quiet area... |

My house don't come with a garage so it's sitting in a carport. My place is off the main road so is quite quiet, security should be ok, I normal block it with other cars. The main problem i can see is torture by the sunlight, rain, wind and bird poop... I'm considering to build a cover on the car port, as least give it a bit of shelter

You could always put up one of those fabric canopies or tents. They're not that much money and if you aren't worried about people stealing it, you could just leave it out there and park under it. You could get one that's just the poles and the roof, or get a fully enclosed one you drive into. A lot of mobile detailers will set these up when they come to your house and work on your car, so you could even get one that's easy to take apart. In case you don't know what I'm talking about, check these out for ideas, though I'm in no way saying this company or type is recommended, just giving you a visual:

go rent a garage spot, man. if you can't do that, buy one of those tent-garages you can park under. doesn't make any sense to let such a nice car sit unprotected when you're not using it. COME ON!

Yeah, i have a car cover, but i gave up using that after a few time as it's too much hassle, it's probably good if you are not going to drive it for a month or so, but not if you drive it a few times per week

I was in your situation when I first got my 1M I had to park it in the street in an area which was pretty much unfriendly to cars. After many sleepless night and few damages left on the bumper from other cars I`ve decided to move from there and find a house with a garage. I haven`t solve the problem completly as my entry is very steep and 1 time out of 3 I'm scratching the bottom of the bumper on the asphalt. My suggestion is to try to solve that problems the best you can you will sleep much better.

I'd say if there are no trees around for sap to drop from and birds to sleep in, it wouldn't be too bad. Mine is a daily so as I drive to work, it's out all day in the sun anyway, it's only under at night when the sun has gone to bed anyway. |

My 1m is a Garage queen. That said, if you use a high quality sealant, keep up on your maintenance washes and don't allow bird droppings to live on your paint you can keep a car, especially with a ceramic clear coat looking nice even when parking it outside.
It is WAY more work, but doable. |

I feel your pain. I spent many a year with my rides outside. Now I have 3 bays - 2 attached and a 3rd on the other side of the driveway. The question is: do I park the M in it's own garage? No heat, etc. Or, do I park it attached to the house and park the DD in the 3rd bay? I know, tough problem to have blablabla. We now return to the original thread at hand...
