Trick for BMWUSA Configurator
I quick scanned the Configurator thread and didn't see this mentioned. If it was...eh, forgive.
Hope this works on your computer- I'm running OSX/Safari. When you are on the start page of the 1-er configurator and choosing your exterior color, select the color and let the image load- You'll see a cheesy Pantone overlay approximation of the color you've chosen. Then mouse up to the symbol for 360 degree look. Click it... A new image will load of your car- and it's a "real" color instead of the overlay that was first displayed. Also it's a different image. Try it. Not much...but lots better quality. You get a clearer more accurate picture of your 1-er. Here's the diff with Sparkling Graphite as an example. This image will carry-over to the exterior view when you add the interior and in the "Summary" section. top is initial image/bottom 360 image |

Running Firefox - no error though the 360 degree rotator does provide a less cartoon-like image. The image below came from the rotator.

it was just different in the way that it was created... 1st one is 2D and more computer-generated imagery, and 2nd one is more like 360° photographic imagery...and exposes more lighting... but it still doesnt look like actual Sparkling Graphite |
