I don't understand why BMW can't somehow get the i-drive controller to function as the click whell on the ipod. I'm not a computer guru but it doesn't seem like it should be too hard

It isn't for sale in the UK yet either - I've been told at the end of the month (provisionally!)

All I know is that all U.S.-bound BMWs have the pre-wire. It's likely that with the Professional system you have it also. Would suggest calling the dealer to enquire.

Has anyone seen this: http://www.mp3yourcar.com ? Their Neo iOn product (although pricey) seems like the ticket. It appears to connect via the CD changer interface, but not sure of the details. I am going to give the call to find out. If you have any experiences, please share.

I'm fairly sure that that solution is for the convertable 2006's only... which are not e90s.

I spoke with Jessie, the US rep for Dension, about the e90. As of two weeks ago, it did not look hopeful that the company would be able to develop a kit for the e90 because each car needs to be reprogrammed by a BMW dealership after installation of the kit. They seem to still be working, but don't get your hopes up.

Also, keep in mind that the site for Dension USA is densionusa.com, not dension.com which is Europe.

But why does it matter, actually, since BMW will have their kit out in a few weeks. Cost will probably be the same, and you can rest assured that any problems will have to be ironed out by a BMW dealership.
