Is this allowed? or should i remove it??
So I made up an M Power visor for my windshield. just trying stuff out. The only shred of "M" DNA my car has is M3 control arms up front.
Is this sacrilege ? I feel guilty. But im interested in hearing some opinions.

Eh, I wouldn't do it, but then again no sticker touches my car, windows or not.

I guess im speaking more to the point that I have a fat "M" logo on a non m car. I feel like if I saw someone else do it I would say "that's not an M car you poser!"
But I put it on my car and it seems ok. Perfectly justified. lol. Until I started thinking about it. NOw I feel guilty.

for what it is worth, I just got back from france where I rented a 318 diesel wagon with m sport package. Factory M badges were everywhere including on M badge on the side of the car near the side markers. Also on the wheels, the steering wheel, the seats and the shift nob. The car had OK torque being a diesel, but really rather slow. the 135i is much more "M" than that

I draw the line at replacing your model badge with an M model badge. That's sacrilege because it's not what the person claims it is. Putting a sticker on a car that has more power than the M version of the car isn't that bad. I personally wouldn't do it, because I don't like to put stickers on my car. But do whatever you want as long as you aren't trying to pass your car off as a 1M.

+1.
I think using the M logo on a non-M car is sacrilege and some members here have busted my chops for saying so, but to each their own. If BMW wants to do it, that's their right.

Thanks for the insight guys. The grill tri color is an experiment. Personally I like it. But I change things up a lot. I have grills for painting anf my oem grills that I leave alone. so when I get bored or aggrevated at my wife, I usually start a little project
Thanks. I like getting so many varying ideas and opinions.

one thing, it looks like you have the M tri color on your lower bumper? the letter "M" Is not their. but those colors are synonymous with the "M" brand. I'm just curious how you can say using the logo is so bad, but using the M colors is acceptable. certainly one is not such a departure from the other?? just my $0.02. personally I think your tri color looks cool. I like it.

Not my cup, but to each his own. Doesn't matter to me. Only advice I'd give is to tone down the grill decals. One line for each color is a lot simpler but makes a more sophisticated statement. Now it's like too much going on.

It doesn't look bad, but what about one that just said BMW? or what about just a black visor there?
I think if an M badge didn't come on it from the factory, it should not be on there |

Anyone who puts an M badge on their car (aside from BMW themselves) is clearly trying to pass their car off as an M car... Sacrilege, in my book. Quote:

Too much mate. My wife's 135i has the M Sport package but there are no badges on the exterior. Slapping a giant M Power sticker on your windshield without having anything powered by M, well, what are you trying to say? Do not like those tri colours on the grille either. Makes it all look very Autozone.

You can and should do whatever you want to your own car. If it makes you happy its fine.
That being said if I saw that on the street I'd point and call it gay. But thats just my personal opinion. I'm not the ambassador of what mods are cool and what mods suck, neither is anyone else. Just do whatever you like. If your asking for opinions you know mine, but maybe others would like it. Personally I'd ditch the grill too, but other people love that colored stuff, so clearly some like it and some don't. IMO don't worry so much about what random strangers on the internet think |

I think you're so far down the fake M badges road that it doesn't matter. People who hate putting fake badges on the car are going to hate it with or without the visor.
Personally, I hate it. I de-badged my 128. I need new wheels, and as much as a love the 264 wheels (and how there are a lot of good deals on them right now), I'm not putting them on my car for fear of people thinking I'm trying to pose in a 135. Was thinking about the 235i the other day... if I got one, the first thing I'd do would be to get all of those effing badges off of it (there are 16!). What a joke. $10 says that when the actual 2M comes out, it will have less, lol. |
