N54 E85 Back End flash & JB4 Dyno

Hi Everyone,

Recently had the opportunity to strap my friends car down on a dyno to test out my new BB back end flash with the JB4 G5 Iso & E85 fuel.

The mods on the car are as follows
JB4 G5 Iso
BB Back End Flash - E85 File - 18L of E85 mixed into tank
AR DP
Muffler Delete Axle back
5" FMIC
Mr 5 Intake
Charge Pipe, BOV

Car has recently had a valve clean.

The dyno's are as follows:
001 Red: Map 5 - 277kw (map hadnt adjusted properly yet)
002 Blue: Stock Map - 202Kw
003 Green: 16.5psi target - 292kw
004 Pink: Map 5 - 288kw (after a few pulls on the dyno to adapt map5)
006 Black: 17.5psi target - 298kw

The methanol really only added 10kw peak power at the wheels, when stacked on top of the E85.

Also, note how linear the graphs are. They are near silky smooth as if it were NA. Most of the JB dyno's I have seen are all over the place with boost oscillating all over the place.

This is the exact same dyno a lot of members on here have ad their cars on, and it is well known to be a "heart-break" dyno. This was done at APC for anyone that has a sheet to compare it to.
It was in a hot shed, and 30c was the temperature read on the dash.

I highly recommend the back end flash. The car feels so much smoother. The boost comes on a lot more linear when compared to previous JB's I have owned and ran.

Great work dude, I'm surprised it didn't yield more as a lot of guys are getting those numbers with just meth but as you pointed out it could be that particular dyno!

Yeah, I know what you mean, but i honestly believe it is this particular dyno.

The store owner said 135/335 usually are around the 250 mark for a full bolt on n54, on this dyno. A lot of local boys have dyno'd fbo cars with a similar figure. Mid 200's.

A full bolt on rb turbo 335 was on the same dyno less than a week earlier and made 314kw at 19psi.
A mere 16kw more than mine.

That sounds about right

At the end of the day its just a number, as you pointed out those curves look great how does it feel on the road?

may i ask what meth setup are you running?

Yeah it definitely is a lot smoother.
You don't feel the jerkiness of the boost coming on hard.

It basically feels like the stock map, but with a LOT more power.
The power is linear all the way to 6000rpm.

I have a 1 gallon tank. It's painted black and is pretty Stealth installed in my boot. Cm10 nozzle.

That's a great result. Graph looks clean too. You should have tried map 7 with meth. Target 18.5psi. Think it could have added another 7-8wkw. Any logs?

Great result! Have you ever dyno'd elsewhere so you can draw comparisons?

BB back end flash + JB4 G5 ISO + E85 seems to be the path to take.

So, did you put in 18L of E85 and top up with 98RON? Would that equate to ~E30?

How do you monitor boost while in-car? I read that G5 ISO isn't compatible with the P3 gauge.

Yeah, 18l of e85 then topped up with 98.

Jb4 g4, with downpipes only, on map 5 yielded me about 250kw on another dyno dynamics that was calibrated exactly the same. Had 100octane fuel in it too from United servo.

So intercooler, fuel and reflash/g5 ISO with meth, net me 50kw.

I had my laptop plugged in and logged it.

Also the dyno read what the boost was as it was tapped to a boost line.

In car, I have my oil temp gauge to get hijacked to show the boost. Its activated after 50% throttle.

Impressive 50kw gain, considering meth accounted for just 10kw over the E85 tune.

I've used the gauge jack before but find that it's not too visible when I just want to have a quick glance so I'm just working through other options to pair with a JB4 G5 upgrade but which also include the features of the P3 that is currently installed as well as other measurements that I want to display in-car.

That's excellent. That would put you around E30. I am only making approximately about the 280ish with E60 using the procede Flex Fuel Betas. Unfortunately the beta's were setup of a car with no mods from what I understand and I don't believe they are going to develop any OTS maps for the different stages like the rest of their maps.
