Once upon a time I test drove a 1M while I owned a 135....and then I bought it a few weeks later. lol. It is a slippery slope my friend!!!

It's funny: I read a post on the 2 Addicts site talking about the M2 and one of the posters complained that the M2 was almost certainly going to be a disappointing "parts bin" car like the 1M.
Really? You are complaining about the result of a "parts bin" car that is probably the best vehicle BMW has made in decades?

Which is precisely the reason I turned down the offer of a test drive of a privately owned 1M a couple years ago after a BMW CCA event. Since I am not in a position to sell my 135i and buy a 1M, why ruin (forever) my "satisfaction" with the 135i.

Ha the second post sums up my situation, the first post sums up how I WOULD behave. Unfortunately I'm just barely getting started in my career so no $50k+ cars for me for awhile. I do still love my car, though. I just won't be one of those people who does a 1M conversion on their 135i. It just isn't the same thing no matter what.

In short no I didn't drive it but I rode along.

Wow. A parts bin car at the M level isn't something I'd complain about. The handling was just superb from the passenger seat.

Thanks guys! The owner actually purchased the car while living in Hawaii but moved over here to the Kansas City area.
