It would have been an easy addition, but I wanted to keep that hint of OEM in the lights; most factory blacked out headlights (Ferrari, Porsche, MINI) have a grey projector rim. The grey projector rim also ties in with the OEM diffuser, the only other grey on the car.

Additionally, if I add a carbon fiber lip or mirrors, the grey will tie in nicely. Personal opinion.

Just received my new MadDad midpipe. Can't wait to hear the difference. I'll post my thoughts once it's installed even though many have already reviewed it.

Shipping and packaging from Harold at HP Autowerks was flawless; 4 days to the East Coast.

I love this car. It even looks good in the Home Depot parking lot.

Is there any weight savings with the maddad midpipe? I'd like to pick this up as well.

Also, if I do get this, I'm assuming if I want to go Akra for exhaust later, all I need is the slip-on right? Is this combo good? Anyone run this?

Check out all the information here: http://oneightynyc.com

They work on your lights so if you aren't local, you'd have to send a set in for modification.

For the question about weight savings, I would check with Harold at HP Autowerks; it certainly looked and felt lighter to me.

The sound difference, however, is quite noticeable!

Ian///M runs the Akra-Maddad combo and loves it. You'd only need the slip-on. Check out some comments here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=855394

Here's a photo so you can see the difference in the midpipes.

I liked the sound of the MadDad so much that I decided to forgo a slip-on for now; instead I just polished the stock box to make it seem special.

LOVE the headlights. Wonder if they offer them for the 135.

Edit: read more of the thread. Guess I would have to send them my headlights to modify. Hmmm.....

Also like those Maddad mids. Wonder how they compare to the 135i PE mid. Mine are essentially a straight pipe, and do not want to go any quieter. Half the price of the Meisterschaft mid though.

That looks great! Mind explaining what you did/used to polish?

I used Mother's metal polish, started with a green scouring pad by hand for the heavy build-up (mine was a dull grey brown with buildup since new), then moved to a drill attached polishing ball to remove the scratches and bring the shine.

I used something like this kit: http://www.autogeek.net/mokit.html

Here are some more photos:

Awww yisss. Nice work!! I'll have to do this as well. Mine has some browning/discoloring at the welds.

I haven't decided on a mid pipe yet. Berk, MadDad or N55. If I can get a little more sound, I might just keep the stock muffler.

I have looked at a lot of exhaust reviews and vids. But it's hard to know what they will sound like in real life...plus because someone's N55 vid is done differently than someone else's MadDad...also combined with the fact that usually one or both of the cars has had other stuff done to it as well; too many variables.

I would like a little more noise, no drone, and would love to get some of the deceleration/lift burble...although this only seems to come with aftermarket mufflers.

Extra sound from the N55 pipe is subjective depending on the review, but all reviewers I've read agree that the Maddad pipe offers a deeper louder sound. Both offer freer flow.

My car is stock except for the Maddad and it definitely burbles on throttle lift/overrun.

My car certainly got louder with the N55 pipe. I thought the car sounded great stock, but I wanted a little more and the N55 mid has delivered.

Great looking car OP, I need to polish up my stock muffler/tips.
