If the car is ordered with Bluetooth, BMW Assist, Satellite Radio, phone prep - yes.

Otherwise, it may not be present.

Not really, mostly done by computer and the computer knows what is needed for each option (must have taken a whil to programme )

Suppliers deliver most parts in a specific order according to what car it will go into.

Like the trolly with suspension will arrive from the supplier packed in the correct order for how the cars will be built, with the cars VIN number on the parts. Another example is the healiner, they get a troley from the supplier with the correct colors packed in the order the cars will be built in.

Roof is easy
Factory gets 2 types, 1 for sunroof, 1 without.
If the computer sees the car needs one with a Fin, its selects the correct roof from the 2 available, then punches a hole in it before placing it on the car.

Damn the American government ... they have always been so keen on working with the German's.
It totally caught me off guard, I was watching for the Ford stock to sky rocket after the government subsidized Shark fin became mandatory across the Ford product line.

After some diging I found It was actually wire tapped around congress by Wal-Mart in an effort to track everyone shopping at target. It was called operation "See Spot Save China”

I tried to verify by speaking with a rep thru the BMW assist and that "prat" just pretended like he had no clue what the hell I was talking about.

I do not have any of the above mentioned options and still have the Sharkfin.

As espro90 stated, All US E90s have the sharkfin.

Fleet, the Sat Prep is still an option in the US. Not std. yet.
