From Soquick:

"I talked to Tom at D-Force a week or so ago. They said they are still debating on a 18x9 that fits well or a 18x9.5 thats a bit tight. I asked for a rough ETA and he said about 2-3 months, again, ROUGHLY.

D-FORCE can have your wheels powdercoated for you, at additional cost of course. "

We were talking about the debate on 9" or 9.5" that DFORCE is considering... Completely on topic

The torture!!! My tires are worn out but I don't want to buy new ones until I have wider rims!! I don't know what I should do now if its going to take another 2-3 months. (I'm guessing that is an optimistic estimate too)

Me too, I am really trying to find a set of wide wheels before my stock tires go bald...

The 18x9 is also a viable option here. It will fit identically to the OEM wheel with an additional 2mm of clearance at the fender to boot. A 255 and most likely a 265/35/18 will fit nicely on that wheel with stock fenders.

The last wheel we tested on the BERK 135i was a 18x9.5 +58. We had a semi-pro person perform a rear fender roll with proper tools (aka not a baseball bat ) and we were able to stuff a 265/35/18 back there with no issues.

So what would be more appealing to you?

- D-Force 18x9.5 +57 which is a tight fit and may require fender rolling. (Depends on your alingment and tire choice)

- D-Force 18x9 +57 to +60 which is an OEM fit.

I vote for the 18x9 OEM fit, I would LOVE 265 out back without fender rolling

9.5" wide for me plz, and why not max out the offset on that one too, +62?

I would think a 265 tire on a 9" would be too much tire and potentially rub as much as it would on a 9.5. I really want to use 225/40 front and 255/35 rears since I already use that on another car and have some extras and a cheap tire that I like (Nexens). But 9" would be okay for me if that's what this lightweight wheel manufacturer thinks will help them with their marketing. I think this manufacturer should just insure it doesn't rub on the stock suspension. The average person who lowers will be willing to roll a fender a little also.

The key to me is basically simple, I want something that will hold more rear rubber than stock while being lighter weight than stock. Looks are important too and less so price. The Empowers or Advan RS's are my favorites by far.

the 18x9.5 rear is way more appealing... the more rubber the better...

I kind of agree, I'd rather start with like a 60mm offset and be able to add a 2 or 3 mm spacer and still have some flexibility in there rather than start at the 57 or 58mm offset.

Same with the front I'd rather start with an 18x8.5 + 40 than going straight to the 38.

+1....9" would be perfect, and Advan RS would be on my top 5 of wheels for this car.

I honestly hate the look of those wheels.
But 255/265 with a bit of rolling I love.

At first I didn't want to have to roll my fenders but if I can get that much rubber under the wells Ill suck it up. Just have to find a shop I trust to do it =P

Those in a 5spoke or a wide-split-7 (like the breyton GTS-R) in black with a tasteful TA stripe would be money in the bank.

What are your takes on the Enkei RPF1? Do they make those in 18x8.5@40mm/18x9.5@60mm?

D-Force isn't sure about the production run at this time. It is a huge capital outlay (risk) for a company to make 200 wheels that will only fit the rear of one car on the planet. At this time I am unsure if/when D-Force will make the high offset 9.5" wide wheel for us.

I totally think that a high offset rear wheel would be a huge hit with the 1er community. I would have bought these months ago if they were available, are you guys feeling the same way as I do?
