New Member, so Hello!

Just got a Gray 2010 135i M-sport with 12700 miles!!!....hopefully the pictures will load.

I've been lurking for a while, trying to do some homework on the car, see if it would be a reasonable purchase. Turns out, it's not. It's too fast! I'll certainly be getting in trouble, but so far, it's nice to have a stick-shift, and it does remind me a bit of my old 2002 Tii.

2 things:

1: Car still has 2 years of warranty/maintenance, and is due for an oil change and brake fluid change. Anything else I should have them look at? Why do most of you guys NOT LET THE DEALER WASH IT?

2: I've done research on tires, but don't know what to get...there are too many options, and everyone has a different opinion. Is there a quick and dirty guide?

So far I love the car, and the forum seems great!
Cheers!!

Congratulations and welcome. Yep, the 135 is FAST and FUN

1) The dealer will have their car ports wash the car and they generally do not care too much about scratching your car with used or dirty towels.

2) tirerack.com

Congratulations! I see from your location that you're just up the road from me (I'm in Silver Spring). As for tires, mine came equipped with Pirelli PZeros as part of the Sport package and no complaints so far.

Yup. I'm in Brooklyn right now though....I'll be coming down to get the inspection done and new Chesapeake Bay plates thrown on. Should look great on a gray car!
Any meets in the Balto area?

I thought those buildings in the background looked like NYC -style brownstones. I'm originally from Manhattan (uptown). I haven't heard of any upcoming meets...I think there was a Bimmerfest near Bel Air, Md. in September.

Thanks guys/gals

So far I'm really loving this car.

I went to BMW Bayside on LI to get the following done:

-Oil Service
-Brake Fluid changed
-New wiper blades (Service Advisor said: "You're entitled to a new set per year, so here ya go.")
-CBS reset

Got to check it out while on the lift and met the tech. He told me that the car looks great, that it's solid, and not to be surprised if it burns a quart of oil every 5000 miles. The engines run super hot, and that's just the way they are.

I'll need some tires on the back soon....

I also scared myself a little..wasn't expecting the back end to come flying out around a little corner under power.....ok ok..i clearly tried to make it step out and it was a lot of power.....but it was controllable and fun.

Overall the car is great. The ENGINE IS AMAZING! What torque! It's too easy to drive in any gear!

But the car does ride rough on NY roads/highways, and there are some little squeaks a rattles.

My 98 740iL had a better quality interior, insofar as plastics are concerned, but the handling and 'tightness' of a newer car is incredible.

I've rediscovered the joy of driving. I really have.
I KNEW THIS WAS THE CAR FOR ME THE MINUTE BMW CAME OUT WITH IT !

Hope she treats me well....

Great looking ride! Swap out the chrome kidney grilles with the gloss black BMW Performance grilles and tint those windows! Looks good though!

Thanks. It's got an annoying rattle in the roof behind the sunroof...an idea of what is causing that or what to tell the dealer?
It rides a bit rough but the engine is amazing. I do really like it.
For mods I think I'll stick to BMW parts. Exhaust then maybe a suspension kit if that fixes the harshness...

Congratulations! I'd go with some VMR wheels. I think they look the best on BMWs.
