Window Tint Info From dealer
I emailed Momentum BMW SW in Houston, Texas about window tinting, here is my email and his response...
__________________________________________________ _____ My Email: I have one more question, are the 1 Series' windows tinted? If so, what percent. Also, if not, is it a factory or dealer installed option and how much does it cost? Randall Helmcamp Response: 35% is legal on the front windows, 20% ok in back. 299 installed.

Just get the windows tinted at a tint shop you can get it for atleast $100 cheaper, just go to a trusted place. The place i go to usually charges between 150 and 199, and they only use the best tint. Plus they give you a warrenty too. You could save yourself a 100 bucks

You could get it cheaper at a different place, But I would pay the extra 100$ to get it done at BMW because they know what they are doing, I got my tints done at my local BMW accessories shop and they did a great job. I paid 300$ plus tax.

Professional tint shops should warranty their work and if you go to the right place.. will do a great job. I, personally, wouldn't pay $300 for tint no matter what..

Well the tint itself is actually dirt cheap.. its almost paying for full labor and I think it also depends on your region. Here in SoCal there are a million tint shops and a lot of the tend to price really competitvely. I have seen as low as under $100 including warranty although I wouldn't mind paying somewhere along $200 as others have stated for a quality referenced shop.
