ECS Branded Charge Pipe and BOV reverted back to Diverter.

Hi all,

I've recently purchased a 2009 135i with a few mods already installed. The one that needs to go is the ECS branded BOV as it's too noisy and doesn't suit the car.

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-part...t/010997ecs~a/

My question is what diverter can be fitted to replace the BOV and what Diverter would be the most cost effective solution?

Thank you in advance.

You can try a tial bov. They are supposed to be quiet.

To fit dv you would need another charge pipe.

Most cost effective maybe see if some one wants to swap style of charge pipe.

Put the stock charge pipe on until you can buy a charge pipe with dv.

Okay I'll do some research on them.

From what I have seen they are miles quieter than current BOV.

Thank you Brule.

Brule is right the tial is by far the nicest followed by the turbo smart with the upgraded spring for extreme high performance applications.

I had Tial on my 135i and now Turbosmart on my 1M. The Tial is definitely a lot louder.

I've heard of guys muffling the sound of BOVs with filters and the like but the design of our will not really permit any easy diversion of the air flow into a filter.

Also, tial, Synapse, AA, BOV options in general, are not very quiet. If you're looking for a quiet upgrade you're going to want to go back to a divert valve set up, the Cobb intake pipe with Forge diverter valves is a great option.

Thanks,
I don't. But as I have them plumb back into the intake pipe there isn't much to hear, especially at a stand still. You really have to be WOT then back off quickly to hear the 'BOV sound'. But I do have AFE open intakes so it's definitely audible.
