Lightning's Pure Turbo Build

Hi guys,

Greetings from Singapore!

The 1M has been my daily drive for the past 4 years. It has been a great journey together with my car. There are so many reasons to keep the 1M but lets not digress into it. Bottom line, i love this car to bits.

Well, after 159,000km (YES, 159,000KM) daily driven miles and my constant interest on the potential of the N54, it is time to take a little courage and leap of faith to embark on a new chapter

To start off, the car will be fitted with Stage 2 Pure Turbos with supporting aftermarket parts.

In the next couple of weeks i'll do my best to document this process as much as i can as well as the work done on the car. My motive is to start a informative discussion for those who are looking to turn their 1M into a bigger ///Monster..
Do also let me know if you have anything to chip in, i'd be more than happy to hear and we can talk it out, it will definitely help! (well, more information wouldn't hurt i guess)

In case anyone's wondering, my car has been fitted with the following modifications so far:

1. ER charge pipe with Tial BOV (recommended for anyone running stock charge pipes and intending to go higher boost)
2. Wagner EVO I Intercooler
3. AR 3" ******* downpipes
4. Cobb AP V3 with PTF tune
5. Clutchmasters FX350
6. Akrapovic Evolution w Wireless kit
7. Alcon Superkit
8. BBS FI 19" Wheels

I'm currently on the Alcon Superkit front rear for my brakes. Ohlins will be my suspension of choice once i get the car to be reliable with the new turbos and engine hardware.

I'm hoping for the pure s2's in the near future. How come you decided to go with cobb instead of jb4 though?

hi Ba7raini, I just converted to JB4. those listed were the existing mods i have on my car.


Here's the list of parts i ordered so far:

1. Pure Turbos Stage 2
2. MFactory SMFW/Spec Stage 3+ Combo
3. VTT 2" inlets
4. jb4 G5 ISO w bluetooth connect kit + Meth kit

not yet, but about to order (in the next few days):
1. VRSF 7" Intercooler
2. VRSF Cerakote Downpipes
3. Fuel-It Stage 3 LPFP
4. Fuel-It Port Injection kit


I just got the JB4 installed. will do some logs and post it here for reference

go with a Buraq tune, you will like it better than PTF, i had both and it was a night and day difference

My ARs are not ceremic coated, the VRSF ones are. More importantly, I would like to see what's the difference between both brands myself, since there are so many conflicting reports out there.

AR is pretty highly regarded. The biggest issues with downpipes is fitment. If you're not having problems, I'd let leave them alone. Tuning will have worlds more influence on how the car behaves and how much power you're able to extract from it.
