Letter from BMW Sales Rep

Received the following via email today from my client adviser:

You may have read that BMW has pulled the plug on the 1M. You along with 8 others in our order bank will unfortunately not be able to obtain these cars. We don't understand why, we were informed this week that this is the last month of production. Would you like me to mail your check back...?

Anyone else received such notice?

Wow. That sucks. I'm sorry to hear that. Mine is on the boat right now *I think* since it is currently "out of range". Hope you find one.

So maybe the post about cars produced after Oct 31 bound for the US would require a MY2012 VIN is accurate? We all assumed production would go through the calendar year (oct, nov, dec), but really it was only through the model year which apparently ends in October? I can't believe that September is the last month of production though.

I don't understand? We should have 3 more months of production.

That's what I thought, believing I was good given my place in the queue, but see sergeremi's post #4 above.

I have now idea why BMW would slow/cut production on such a high demanding car. Besides wanting to make it rare.

I actually heard the same thing from my dealer (about Oct finish production dates for 2011 and 2012's are made afterwards), but there is no way i'm starting another thread about this crap! i mean really...this is about the most over-beat topic on the 1M forum? People get so spun up on it. In europe production will continue, but US passed a final rule that changes emissions on model years 2012-2016.

I was going to post this in other threads...but held off until the war ended on this debate (for US 1M owners and want to be owners). Here it is: http://www.epa.gov/oms/climate/regulations.htm#finalR

again...sorry you didn't get the car.

Wow ... that sucks. Sorry to hear that.

Your CA said you were in the 'order bank' what does that mean from a status code? Were you in 047 or 111.

If you had a production number, you would have been at least 111.

Sorry to hear this, but it's another fukin clueless CA. I guess he assumed that by putting 8 in the order bank w/o confirmed allocations (047), this would prompt BMW to shit more 1Ms. Yeah, the no Nov/Dec prod came as a surprise, but 8-9 more...c'mon. It's probably a ploy to push folks into other models.

Way to go EPA, we have less pollution now than ever, mainly because all our production has moved out of the country,
