Allocation?

So when's the next round of allocations? Is end of March or first of April??

I am not getting much info from my dealer, other than being told my order is in the bank.

Thanks

I believe allocations are released around mid-month. There were a few new slots reported on the site for March, but not many

What dealer are you working with? The first Midwest allocations outside Chicago are not going to be built until fall (August or September is the first in KC). The same is true here in St. Louis. I had my hopes up for spring or early summer as my order is in the order bank, but saw the email from the Midwest BMWNA rep last week listing dates for every dealer in the region. My build is now September or October

The one in Columbia, MO. Sounds like it'll be a while. Thanks for the info. Even if it isnt what I wanted to hear.

dwildone -- the information with dates/dealers, this was in an email you were privy to, or was it posted somewhere? Please clarify. Thanks.

It was a printed email shown to me by a CA. It was sent to the sales manager at the dealer from the Midwest BMWNA rep. It was not every dealer in the US- mainly those in the IL, MO, and KS markets. It was basically provided as proof that my build date is October, and that no one else in the region, outside of Chicago, is getting one much sooner. I asked to keep a copy, but that was not to the liking of the sales manager.

October is really late for building a 2011 anything. Traditionally, June would be the end of production for the auto models of that year.

The 1M is going to be different. We already know that production will run from March to December. Sure, Leipzeg will take their normal end-of-summer break in August, but things will pick back up for Sept-Dec.

What exactly does this mean? I am two lists. One will not even attempt to place an order until they get the allocation. The other dealer I went to, cut a deposit check, and placed an order in the bank, though there is no allocation. We're waiting for it to go through when one comes in.

This whole thing is really beginning to become frustrating and is starting to impinge on my 1M experience a little bit.

So, who wants to bug their CA today and see if BMW NA got more allocations?

How much is there that they don't know, compared to how much they just aren't suppose to tell you/us?

I don't know what worse....

Not getting an allocation or knowing your car is built and having it sat waiting in dusty field just down the road, not being told when it's being released?

I've been watching the forum the last two days for any new details about the new round of allocations. I am letting the whole thing drive me crazy. I just would like to know (a.) if I can get one and (b.) when.

If it is a US car, you know when it will be released.

Umm, Can you enlighten me? I don't know, and my dealer doesn't know either.
They don't even know when they will be getting an allocation, nor when I will be able to ED my car.

Thanks for pointing me to anything I missed!

Or was the target of your response the build but sitting part?

What he meant is: if your car has already been produced and is on its way, the announced release date is May 14th, which is already known.

Apparently your problem is the same as mine - I don't have an allocation yet either. The only thing that makes me feel better is that every US dealer has been promised at least 1 car, and I happen to be #1 on list, so I know I will get one, the question is when?
