Software Update for iDrive

Hey guys, first post here but I've been lurking for awhile. I just got a 2012 128i a month or so ago and saw that there is a software update available. When I go to bmw.com/update and enter my VIN it tells me it is invalid. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there any other way to get the software update? I've been seeing this for about 2 weeks now.

If you've got ConnectedDrive, you can download updates for phone connection and also map updates which you have to pay for (either go to a BMW dealer, find a person who has the SW and wants roughly 50% of BMW's price or DIY).

Updating the iDrive itself is not possible.

yea i'm looking to update the phone/media device connection.
