It definitely limits the car's real-world performance.

Based on your personal experience or presumption?

In the end... they are cars, used to get from point A to point B. Some like to push it as FAST as they can, so they put money towards going faster and faster.. Others want to get there quick, but look good (according to their own subjective belief.)

You speak as if people can't have both, with or without compromise.

Based on your admission that your car was "speed bump challenged." That sounds like a limit on real-world performance to me. Speed bumps should slow you down, not damage body kits (not saying it's happened to you, but I've seen it happen).

Anyway, I didn't mean to stir up a hornet's nest on this - at the end of the day, it's your money and your car - enjoy it.

However, either car so-equipped (R32 or Golf) would have the same limitation.. Once you get passed the speedbump, the R32 will out accelerate the golf (speaking from experience and utilizing basic logic.) The stance or limitation does not effectively negate the performance differences between the two cars...

Final note:
If you are ever on this side of the pond, I will take you for a spin in my friend's Turbo MKV R32...

He's almost 40 years old... a well respected dentist and has one of the fastest R32's in the country. It's also "hella flush" with 17x9.5 et 36 wheels all around. Daily driven and he's got almost over 75,000 miles on it (a majority of which was turbo'd and slammed

Is his performance limited?? maybe, maybe not... But to say that he should have purchased a golf over an R32 is completely unfounded. It has no problems handling another friend's C2 Turbo'd rabbit.

Video with winter wheels... try getting this sound out of a 5cyl golf.. HAHA

that sounded amazing.

By the way John, can you let me know what the thread pitch on your stud kit is and where you got those lugs? hahaha I've been wanting to do that too. We already drive forced induction BMWs, purists hate us from the factory.

I need to take more video of his car because I bought a better external mic for my 5DII.. it is way more intimidating in person.

I was under the SN: Ducky 2.0T. I don't frequent that forum much anymore. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ducky_x...7622235586114/

I am curious to see the wheels with the new lugs. Did you already do the stud conversion? I've always thought about doing it. It makes changing the wheels so much easier.

I know I know it was a hard hard decision, but just like regular shoes. After a year with them, it was time to change it up. Not everyone likes changes, I'm having a hard time adjusting too. Not going to lie.

Natural camber, not sure if I rub on freeway yet...

Lowest I could go I swear...

How many inches off the ground is this?!

will probably rub rear with no camber...

Front = no pokage....

Rear = some pokeage....

Serious photoshoot in the coming month...

Wow that stance looks great and extremely functional. The lugs provide a nice contrast to the full polished wheels.

Well done... Must. resist. urge.... HAHA

While I sort of despise the whole "hellaflush" scene, I can understand people's desires to do something different. Though, in reality you are still following a crowd. Just a smaller, quirkier crowd. But enough of that. I'm probably just too old to understand it.

Im not hellaflush. Never said I was though. I strongly believe I'm not following the crowd unless google search has failed me. I will NEVER find another car like mine.

On a scale this is where I self-proclaim I stand...
