20k miles BMWP shock leaking

Hey guys,

Iv had the bmw performance suspension on my 1r for the past ~20k miles. Took to my shop to have rubber changed for new season.. Found out I had a rear driver shock leaking. I don't drive the car much, but I loved the way the BMWP felt, and would really like to retain ride quality.

I was looking at some new hardware and the eibach pros and the billsteins interest me for new shocks. Possibly thinking about kW v2 coils.. Buddy recommended Koni yellows, but I have concerns about quality.

Any insight to how these referenced shocks would be with the current setup, and any other suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys

Yours is the first post I've ever seen that was concerned with Koni quality. Or are you referring to ride quality?

Yes. The BMWP suspension was nice and taught, but so smooth. Experienced the opposite with the yellows on a few other cars but might have been installation or something else.

You get what you pay for...IMO the yellow Konis are nothing to die for.

However, difference is dramatic when step to DAs or SAs from TCK, IMO

Not sure I'm willing to change entire suspension if the rest is ok. And it seems that way..

Does anyone have experience with the eibach or billstein struts?

ohlins ride better than BMWP and much stable in high speed. I have mine with 600/800 swift springs. even with much stiffer spring rate, it Still ride better than BMWP

I dont know those acronyms to search for anything, I am wondering how much are these coilovers that are better than yellows?
