Faust Has Docked
After sitting at the port for the last 10 days my new Mineral Grey with Black and may I say exclusive Blue stitched seats 135is went to sea.
Looks like there are 3 135is models of the 7 135 usa models on board of the 1600 or so cars shown under the booking order which is going to PORT HUENEME, Ca. Here is a link if you want to track Faust http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/shi...00&header=true in case you have a car on board. Last edited by bp-plickner; 06-13-2013 at 01:21 PM.. |

Hey, my car was sitting on a dock in Bremhaven (and even after talking to my dealer, sadly, I don't know which ship it's on yet)... so.. I'm curious if it's on here? How can I see the itinerary of this ship?

Looking at a map of the USA the east coast is closer to Arkansas than the west coast. But without a VIN number there is no way you can figure out if your car has shipped.
When you order a car and BMW accepts the order they give the dealer a production number. With the Production number you can go to the BMW NA site and add a vehicle to your profile with that info. You have set up a user account on the BMW site to do this I forgot to state that my car is shipping to PORT HUENEME, Ca. Sorry for the confusion. Peace |

I think one of those "is" might be mine. It was completed on the 8th and has been awaiting transit information. Unfortunately, the 800 number is not available until 8am the next business day. The website isn't up to date yet.
I'l know soon enough. |

bp - how do you know how many cars and what type are on board?
And Willis, 3 of us just got our IS cars a couple weeks ago, you should check out the pics in the photo forum. Curious what color and specs you got? Us IS people are so rare, gotta stick together. |

I used the info from this post http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=273 to get the 135 types from the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics track and trace site then I decoded the vin numbers using this site http://www.rubmw.ru/vincode/eng/ to see which were 135is types. Here is the list of 135 types my search disclosed. The blue numbers I think are 135is based on the BMW M double spoke 313 wheels WBAUC9C52DVY60248 BREMERHAVEN LOADED ON VESSEL 17-05-2013 20:20:00 WBAUC9C58DVY60268 BREMERHAVEN LOADED ON VESSEL 17-05-2013 20:20:00 WBAUC9C58DVY60254 BREMERHAVEN LOADED ON VESSEL 17-05-2013 20:20:00 WBAUC9C54DVY60252 BREMERHAVEN LOADED ON VESSEL 17-05-2013 20:20:00 WBAUC9C54DVY60249 BREMERHAVEN LOADED ON VESSEL 17-05-2013 20:20:00 WBAUC9C53DVY60257 BREMERHAVEN LOADED ON VESSEL 17-05-2013 20:20:00 WBAUC9C52DVY60282 BREMERHAVEN LOADED ON VESSEL 17-05-2013 20:20:00 I searched the booking number that I got from my track and trace and went back and used the booking number search. That returned a list of 1600 records. I do not know how many of the 1600 are shipping to California or Washington State. Last edited by bp-plickner; 05-19-2013 at 09:08 AM.. |

I've been checking that thread. I tend to not post stuff too often, but this thread got me excited.

BP - interesting, didn't realize you could search their cargo like that with wildcards and what have you. I thought you could only check a full VIN. Now I wonder how many IS cars were on OUR boat aside from the 3 I know about.
I guess the question now is (in part cause I'm lazy), if you two are accounted for, what are the specs of the third IS one on your boat? Willis - sounds good and about as loaded as you can get. You two will love 'em when you get 'em. Sadly, I could easily work from home today, but I feel like driving into the office so I can drive my car for a bit and take her out on the rare open freeways of LA on a Sunday. |

My research may be flawed, but I am finding 2 Mineral Grey 135is. One is mine with the Black Boston Leather and Blue Stitching, the second one has Oyster Boston Leather. The Third 135is is in Carbon Black with the Black Boston Leather and Blue Stitching.
It's all about the ride. |

Wow. Mineral grey with oyster must be an interesting combo. Hard to envision, though I did sit in a space gray 135is with oyster.
Not sure if your research is flawed, or you may have just broken Willis' heart. Is it wrong that I don't really want any other mineral grey IS's out there? I'll allow yours, but then that's it! By the way, first comment everybody makes when they see my car is, wow, that color is amazing. |

Funny stuff. I have to admit when I saw the other one on the boat i felt a little let down.
But I am getting over it and jonesing pretty bad to take a ride in my new 135is. By the way I teetered on the brink of a lighter colored seat but that blue stitching looked to cool Cheers |

Ya, I went back and forth on the blue stitching as well. At first I was dead set on it and was one of the major draws of the IS to me. But, after I went and played with the tech package, wanting to hate it, I really liked it and that tacked on another $2350 to my order, and the whole point for me of getting this car was to SAVE money over my last car, so decided I could live without the blue stitching, and leather altogether, so just got the black leatherette. I had the leatherette in my 2008 135i, so I knew it was fine by me and a good place to save money.
Needless to say, I'll be interested to see how yours looks since if I had all the money in the world, I'd have gotten it that way. Every other mineral grey I'd seen has had coral red interior, which is a bit much for me. |

I don't know of anyone else who ordered a 135is with my combo. I have to imagine it's out there, though.

I'll hope you're wrong about one of those other cars. The timing seems right, but we shall see. The 800# says my car is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel.

Looking good and I see the madness and obsession is setting in (from experience). I even did the same, doing a slideshow of our boat going through the last locks:
http://www.flickr.com//photos/249373...21593373/show/ The only heads up I'd give you, learning from my experience a few weeks ago + Randy's experience getting his 135is in Scottsdale is it can take a really long time potentially to go from port to your dealer with a 135is. Mine was almost 2 weeks and I'm 60 miles from the port. Randy's, whose was on the same boat, took an extra week. That may have just been a sudden logjam of IS cars or shortage of hands perhaps to do the installs at port of the IS parts, but better to know in advance that that delay is likely, so you don't freak out like a couple of us did when it happened. If it makes you feel better too, I find myself just staring at my mineral grey all the time cause the color is perfect and surprisingly looks very clean even when incredibly dirty, in spite of being such a dark color. So, in case you were debating on other colors and questioned your decision in the least bit, don't. Can't wait to see it!! |

thanks for the slide show link. Who's obsessive? I keep reminding myself that it will get here when it get's here. Lot of good that's doing... Funny you mentioned the color standing up to the dirt. That is a thought that crossed my mind when I selected Mineral Grey. That should work out well here with all of the dust blowing around. |

I would say that even with 2 weeks of dust and dirt on it from me being out of town, up close you can see it's dusty, but from about 3 feet back and beyond, still looks great.
After it got rained on it still looked pretty good compared to a carbon black I saw once after it rained and it looked destroyed with streaks of dirt and spots everywhere. So, for such a dark color, it's holding up so well, I haven't even been pressed to wash it this week after coming back from my trip. Just quickly went over it with a duster and looks great. I eventually took the "when it gets there it gets there" approach after it arrived at port and I thought maybe I'd have in 2-3 days (not 2 weeks). |

Hey bp,
I got my VIN from the dealer, but they didn't tell me which boat it's on. I tried to figure it out from some of the websites listed around here, but I can't figure it out. Can you tell me how you found it by VIN? The boat is due in on June 21st. Thanks |
