Mods that don't make the value decrease/make the value increase

Hello,
everything in the title.
For exemple, i want to switch from 128i OEM front bumper to the 1M one. Does it make the value of my car increase/decrease ? I want to know not only for cosmetics change, but for all (mechanical etc etc).

it depends on the buyer but I would generally say mods do not increase the value of the car and in some cases lower the value of the car.

Your 1M bumper may increase the value of the car at the time you sell it, IF you include the stock bumper along with it but the increase probably will not be much. You usually get more for your mods back if you part the vehicle out.

M sport/ BMW performance parts are nice bonuses
Definitely keep the old bumper, 128i bumpers have no market

If I were looking at a car and saw the bumper was replaced - my initial thought would be "did they change the bumper for a different look, or was the car involved in a front end collision that wasn't reported to insurance"
