Performance Accessories Questions - Car on Order

Hi All,

I have a quick question.

I have a 135i (6mt, convenience, m-sport, premium and hk sound) on order and I was hoping to add the BMW performance suspension as a port installed accessory.

My dealer said something about how there are 5 BMW performance accessories and I need to order at least 3 out of 5 accessories.

- Suspension
- Shift Kit
- Strut Brace
- Exhaust Kit
- Air Intake

This is my first BMW, so I'm confused why I would have to order a set # of add-ons. Does it have anything to do with the fact I'm leasing the car?

Please help...cheers!

I've never heard of that... I'm fairly sure I've read about people ordering with performance exhaust only, without 2 other parts...

your dealer in BSing you man. Go on the Crevier website, or even BMW USA and you can choose from there. I say Crevier since they have a 15% sale goin on and you're in OC.

Since its a lease and the car isnt owned it might be BMW's right to do that.

3 out of 5 is bullshit, and these two are for 128i not 135i.

- Strut Brace
- Air Intake

I definitely recommend the suspension and short shifter, but louder exhaust is a matter of taste.

That sounds like a load of BS.

Might be worth it to get the parts after you have the car and have them installed locally. When you're done with the lease, you can put the stock parts back on and sell the suspension to recoup some of the cost.

3 out of 5 is BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

MSRP is $980 for parts only u should ask for discount.. you can buy it online at $860 shipped . and it will take ~1.5 hour to install.

I have a leased car too, and my understanding is you have to return the car back to stock when returning it, or i might put the performance suspension on. The 3 out of 5 sounds like BS. Call another dealer or BMW

I just went through this question with my dealer when I placed my order last Saturday.

This is NOT about getting the parts installed at port, it's about what can be "residualized" into the lease. BMW has guidelines on this and they specify which components of various "bundles" you have to buy in order to get those components residualized. My dealer showed me the document that specifies the criteria, and I have no reason to think he is anything but honest.

(BTW, I saved ~$650 by getting my BMW Performance suspension and exhaust installed at port, thanks to advice on this forum; more info here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=392064)

I was able to get $400 of my exhaust residualized (like "eleven11" in the link above) but none of my suspension or other BMW Performance accessories, since I didn't buy enough to meet the criteria.

Leasing "ownership" is just like a loan purchase "ownership" where you don't own it either, the bank does until you pay if off.
