You CANNOT have different tints from front 2 windows to back 2...it looks bad and you will regret it. You CAN tint your Windshield lighter than the sides and your rear window darker than the sides.

I have a BlacK E46 coupe with limo tint on all sides and back and 15% front windsheild tint looks amazing. I get compliments on it all the time. I Live in Chicago and Dallas and drive it back in forth and have Never gotten a ticket for it in 4 years.

I agree, I did 35% on the doors and 18% on the rear window. It's awesome. I also did the small "fixed" windows on the back door in 18%. It's really cool looking.

i meant "all around 40%" vs. " front 40% rear 30%" (since I can say it's too risky of being pulled over if I'm going darker than 40% on front windows)
How would it look like?
any pics?

Well...I think most members here will tell ya that it looks better to have them tinted all the way around. For us fanatics...it just does not look right to have a sharp contrast of a darker rear window and a lighter front window.

And...legally, you can't tint front window in CA. Thus, many of us do it regardless of the LAW.

So...you decide....does the contrast bother YOu?

EDIT: ahhhhh...saw your choices, 40 all around vs 40/30. Tough...I did the same tint all around on mine. What color is your vehicle/ and interior??

Years ago I had my diamond black E36 coupe windows tinted - it looked great! However towards the end of its life in my hands the electric windows failed to auto-return.

When I picked up the e90 last year one of the first questions I asked was what did BMW recommend for tinting. I was told that if I tinted the windows, it may void my warranty on the windows electric motors.

Has anyone else been told this?

Hey, what do you guys think of this:

I got a quote of $350 for Huper Optik 30 (VLT: 34%) all around, but the guy said he had to do the back in two pieces. Did anyone else who got Huper Optik have to get the back in two pieces. I was told that it the seam would be along one of the defroster lines, so it would be imperceptible. What do you guys think?

Also, a lot of people have been getting really nice tints by going with the comprable Llumar or some other decent non-metallic tint for half the price of Huper Optik. Any opinions on this?

Thanks.
